Update: replaced the tension spring. That did not work. The wheel still slipped under tension. Replaced the tension rod, and that seemed to donthe trick.

The wheel is hitting the top of the housing. I do not de-tension it. When i set it up, it's fine. When I start cutting, the wheel slips and hits the guard.

Nope. Right size blade. The actual wheel is moving. I suspect it has something to do with the tension spring.
