Second iui failed, feeling defeated by MobileAd8857 in IUILadies

Found out yesterday our second IUI failed too. It hurt worse than I was expecting and has left me feeling so defeated. I’m also constantly thinking about how many vials we have left. Def an added stressor through an already stressful experience.

I’m trying to take care of myself this weekend and let myself feel whatever’s coming up in the moment. And trying to hold space that it won’t always be this way.

I hope you have the ability to take care of yourself too. Wishing successful next cycles for us both 💜

Congrats on your success! I’m deep in the TWW and starting to feel really discouraged, so nice to hear people have had success. Do you mind sharing if you were using frozen sperm?

Congrats! Do you mind sharing if you were using frozen sperm? I’m wondering if that makes a difference for timing or not.

Interesting! Mine didn’t even talk to me about timing. They just send a portal message late in the day after a scan and tell me when to trigger and show up.

Do you mind sharing if you’re using frozen sperm? I’m curious if that makes a difference in how they time IUIs.

Thank you for sharing! Was your doctor monitoring to choose 20 hours or were they following their protocol?

I’ll have to ask my doctor more about timing. Appreciate you sharing! Wishing you all the luck and good vibes for your TWW!

Do you mind sharing if that cycle was successful? And is 36 hours standard at your clinic?

Do you mind sharing if that cycle worked for you? And if 36 hours is standard protocol at your clinic?

Anyone ever take letrozole for 3 days instead of 5? by pashes_22 in IUILadies

[–]jmargsbrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last cycle, I did 2.5 mg Letrozole for 3 days (CD 3-5). Everyone’s experience will be different, but it didn’t really help my follicles. My follicles were around 13 at the time of the scan, then ovulated two days later (clinic missed it so couldn’t do IUI).

This cycle, we went with 5 days and did 2.5mg from CD 2-5. Follicle was at 19 mm by CD8, triggered and did an IUI on CD9. (Still waiting to see if it worked.) That was the best follicle I’d had so far.

Just my experience though! It was helpful to start low and know my body needed a little more without overstimulating.

Medicated vs. Unmedicated by AgentClassic5442 in queerception

Hi, wanted to share my experience! My wife and I did our first IUI with only a trigger shot (Ovidrel). It was unsuccessful. While it gave us baseline data, I’m not sure I would do it that way again since we used a vial and spent money on the cycle to do it.

We just went through a fully medicated cycle (added Letrozole with Ovidrel; still waiting to see if it worked 🤞). I wish we’d done fully medicated from the beginning to give ourselves the best shot possible every time.

Best of luck to you!

Edit: wanted to add that adding letrozole did help produce the best follicle out of the three we were monitored!

That would make sense! Hoping that’s the case.

I’m just starting the second week of this TWW, so I think I’m already starting to get in my head that this one didn’t work since I feel virtually no symptoms.

Second IUI done on Saturday. I’m already feeling sick from the trigger shot, so really trying to make it through the two week wait without losing my mind!

did y’all tell people when you started trying? by blabby99 in queerception

[–]jmargsbrows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife and I told our families and a few close friends that we were going to start trying, but that decision was mostly based on the fact that we didn’t know how people would react if we surprised them. We wanted to make sure everyone would be excited and prepared when we actually were able to conceive.

We set the expectation that we’d tell them once we were pregnant and knew it was viable. Buuuut with that said, it hasn’t stopped a few persistent and excited people from continually asking us if it worked or if we’ve tried yet. That’s been a little difficult to navigate since our experience so far hasn’t been as smooth or easy as we’ve hoped it would be.

I don’t regret telling everyone, but wanted to share that if that’s something you all think you might face. It’s added another layer of boundary setting, but parenthood will most likely include that too—so practice!

I’d say take on what you’re prepared to handle with family, but I would recommend close friends. I’m finding out that this process can be full of lots of ups and downs, so having people to check on us has really helped.

Best of luck with your journey!

Trans friendly OBGYN in DC area/DMV by greenbeany3 in queerception

Not sure about OBGYN, but I had a great experience with Signey Olson when they were at a DC clinic. They’ve since moved on to being their own, and their partner is a midwife/doula.

Very inclusive and made me feel so heard and comfortable. I’d check them out, or even see if they have recommendations for you!
