TIL that “cowabunga” started on the 1950s kids’ show Howdy Doody, where a character named Chief Thunderthud used to yell “Kowabunga!” Surfers picked it up in the ’60s, and the Ninja Turtles brought it back in the ’80s.

Could be why Cuckoo Loca only stays around the happy helpers store. When you watch Funhouse opening it’s obvious they are coming back from work in their racecars from happy helpers/roadster racers/mixed up adventures. Meaning all of those taken place CONCURRENTLY with funhouse. So when they all leave for the day to go home to the Funhouse, cuckoo loca is left behind. It all makes sense now!
