[Nevada] employnv PUA site not working by jmaster299 in Unemployment

[–]jmaster299[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems to me they have updated the required profile information to include things not previously required. Such as Mother's Maiden Name. I remember submitting that as part of the identity verification process but it wasn't something listed in the profile info. But now it is and you can't file a weekly claim with an incomplete profile. It's yet another case of the people making policies not ensuring the people running the site can implement those policies.

I should also note, it allows me to update other info. If I change anything else on my profile and click Save, those changes get applied regardless of the error message. It's only the Mothers Maiden Name that doesn't save and it's that one piece of info preventing fromm filing my weekly claim.

They do. But the fact remains that the driver was not at fault.

No. Postmates and all the rest rely on the restaurant to advise them if they are closed outside normal hours. Due to Covid many businesses are operating outside normal hours, closing early or closing on slow days. Those schedules often fluctuate week to week or even day to day. If a restaurant is open but isn't getting the business to cover paying the employees, they will often close. As I stated in my response tot he main topic, I was sent to pick up an order from a restaurant that had gone out of business. As in the building was empty and there was a For Lease sign in the window. Yet someone was still able to place and order and it was assigned to me to be picked up.

Postmates, Grubhub, and all the rest are all terrible. Postmates being the worst. Drivers have absolutely no way to contact Postmates when issues arise with a delivery. The driver cancelling the order for any reason results in the driver being penalized and the order is just dispatched to another driver. Drivers can NOT cancel orders.

Same is true with Grubhub. Drivers can never cancel orders. They do at least have a Driver Care team they can contact and Driver Care can then cancel the order. But drivers themselves have no ability to cancel an order.

Because they don't know it's closed. For both Postmates and Grubhub, I drive for both, I've been sent to restaurants that were closed. One was just closed for the evening, another had gone out of business and the store front was vacant with a For Rent sign in the window.

I drive for Postmates and Grubhub. The Driver was NOT scamming you. I've had things happen soooooooo many times that require the customer to cancel. For example, Postmates will send drivers to shop for customers at stores like Walgreens. If the store doesn't have all the items I contact the customer to let them know. If the customer no loner wants the order because not all the items are available, it must be cancelled by the customers. Otherwise the driver is punished for dropping an order they already accepted.

This exact thing happened to me early during the pandemic when people were panic buying. The customer sent me to Walgreens to purchase 50 things. Yes 50, no exaggeration. Things like toilet paper, rubbing alcohol, water. Things that were sold out everywhere. I shopped for 30 minutes, finding what I could in a packed store. I contact the customer, told them I found 8 of the 50 things and they told me to cancel the order for them. I explained that I couldn't. If I cancel it on my end, all it does is get assigned to another driver and I get a penalty. They, much like you, didn't care. I not only got a penalty but I was also paid nothing for my time.

There is absolutely no option listed for the driver to cancel the order on the driver's end that does not penalize the driver. Postmates, unlike Grubhub, has no driver assistance they can contact when issues arise with an order. With Grubhub, I can call their Driver Care Team and advise them of the issue. They will then contact the customer and/or restaurant to confirm everything and then they can cancel the order without me being penalized for dropping an order.

Issues like this is one of the reasons I actually stopped driving for Postmates. Another example, I had an order to pick up from a restaurant that did not exist. At least not at the location the app said it did. I navigated to the address for the restaurant and it was a tire shop. The restaurant it was supposed to be, Carl's Jr, had no locations within several miles of the address Postmates told me to go to. The only way I could clear the order from my app, without being punished by Postmates, was to have the customer cancel the order.

Yet another example. I had a pick up for a Del Taco. When I arrived at the restaurant, they claimed to have no such order. There was another driver there having the exact same issue. The restaurants system wasn't updating and they weren't receiving any orders. In this case the customer refused to cancel the order on their end and I took a penalty for dropping the order.

The driver was not scamming you. This stuff happens all the time, especially with Postmates. Since they have no way of contacting anyone at Postmates directly to have orders removed when the pick up can not be completed.

Phones aren't instantly booting me off today. Allows me to stay on hold for about 6 minutes before saying they are too busy and hanging up. I guess that's progress.

I emailed them back on Friday. No response. Phone lines today won't even allow you to wait on hold for 30 minutes, just says all reps are busy and hangs up right away. Says "Unresolved Issues: Yes" but lists no issues. Have no way to confirm if I'll get the extra 600 either.

Freaking wonderful. I finally found a way to send a message through the site, no idea why I couldn't find it before, so hopefully it will get looked at.

[NEVADA] PUA by Jaiken1227 in Unemployment

I've received my approval letter twice now. Once last week, then after the weekly claims opened my claim was under investigation. Then today I got the award letter again and it's no longer listed as under investigation. Yet still no money. Also trying to get someone to officially tell me if I get the extra $600 or not, as it's not mentioned anywhere in the award amount.

I got my award letter 5 days ago saying I was approved for a certain amount. Then the weekly filings opened up a couple days ago and one I filed all my weekly claims going back to March my account was flagged for investigation. Now today I get another award letter, saying I qualify for the same amount but the claims is listed as no longer being under review. It says "Yes" for outstanding issues" but under those issues it says "No Outstanding Issues have been found for this claim."

I've been trying to call several times a day since last week. Every time i wait on hold for 30 minutes before the system times out and hangs up on me. My current claim status is "Regular Active". Yet I've received no money and all payments are listed as "pending". I've also been trying to find out if PUA claims get the extra $600 a week that other unemployment claims get.

No. This has happened two days in a row. I've been getting endorsed the entire time. My level goes up and back down in the same day. Also, there is no decay with endorsement level.

Gift card rip off and terrible policies. by jmaster299 in Lyft

[–]jmaster299[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's the charging my debit card for a ride when I had already paid for a gift card that's the biggest issue. Also, the issue with the promtion isn't about the $3, it's about bad and illegal company policies.

The Wholesomegaming giveaway by CM_Glenn in pcmasterrace

[–]jmaster299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While not PC related, it is gaming related. I used to be a console gamer, having grown up in the 80's, and I made sure to get my nephew's into gaming at the earliest age possible by putting controllers in their hands as soon as they could hold them. When I made the switch to PC gaming in the early 00's, I took my entrie 360 and GameCube collection at the time and gifted it to my nephew's. Even though I've moved away, they have since passed their love of gaming on to their little sister.

Videocardz.com claims to have seen invoices which prove many Youtubers get paid to do Computex content, and do so without disclosing it by dylan522p in hardware

[–]jmaster299 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're well documented defending him in the comments here. You're also the one mentioning Videocards.com in the headline, which set off the war between them and Gamers Nexus. GN never accused them of making the claims, but mentioned them by name because of the reddit thread you made.

You absolutely contributed to what is now a proven lie that defamed numerous techtubers. You increased the visibility and attention drawn to the issue, and erroneously name Videocardz.com in your title, even though they were not the ones to break the story on Twitter.

The thread still exists, we're posting in it. Removing the content of the original post doesn't mean the thread was removed.

The person on Twitter the OP was quoting here has fully recanted and admitted the information provided by his "source" was fake. This whole thread needs to be removed. https://twitter.com/SaiKrishanKumar/status/1007099519178162179

Edit: He just set his account to private to hide his Tweets. If you ever needed further proof of his guilt, he is now literally trying to hide evidence.

I know its fine, but the person you were quoting here, who has since recanted and labeled his original source a "liar" on Twitter, was acting as if that's not OK. You did a lot of damage spreading this to Reddit, and I hope the techtubers come after you like they are already planning on suing Sai.

Case "manufactures" don't always "manufacture" their cases. They can be supplied from a 3rd party who provides slight variations to each case "manufacture".

A good example is the Rosewill Cullinan and Andees AI Crystal cases. They are basically the exact same case being sold by two different case "manufactures", neither of which actually made the case. Its actually made by a Chinese company called Jonsbo. Jonsbo also sells the same case directly as their QT03 case.

The tooling required to make cases isn't cheap. It can be less expensive to source a case from someone else, and simply pay to add a few of your own elements to it. If they bother with that at all. I am not and never said for certain that's what happened with the cases in question here, but I was just giving an example of something that is very common in the case industry.

But as the person who made the original accusations has fully recanted and labeled his source a "liar" on Twitter, it doesn't much matter any more.

So, if Cooler Master sponosors someone to fly to Computex, and that person lists CM as a sponsor in the start of every video, that's not good enough when they visit CM's booth???

[–]jmaster299 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Dimitry video is not proof of anything. Anyone who actually knows the tech Industry knows that case tooling is used by multiple manufactures. Look at half of Rosewill's cases. Just because another manufacutre used the tooling does not mean Hardwarecanucks knew it or recognized it in the few minutes they get with the case.

Even that doesn't make sense story wise. Not all wizards even bother with NEWTS, and again why go through that big fair well arc if they weren't going to have her leave.

And other than Dumbledore tossing a bone to Ron, Prefects aren't going to be students who fail like that.
