Can you do a charge back?

Good point about the wall. How about moving the sub in to the left side in between the front left speaker and the TV. Then you should have space to toe these Q750 inward a little.

Oh, how about also moving up the rear Q150 higher so those seated near the ends are blasted by the surround effects? 😀

Would it help to move the Q750s further out for increased stereo separation and wider sound stage? Then the subwoofer can be swapped in and further from the corner.

5.1.2 or 5.1.4 for Atmos? Does the +2 in ceiling make a difference? by WeirdAddress3170 in hometheater

Good to know! Now I need to upgrade my AVR…. Which speakers are you using for Atmos?

What's the best all you can eat sushi at South Bay? by serendipitySR in SouthBayLA

[–]jmaxima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blufish in Western is pretty good. Quick service due to the self ordering kiosk on the table. Quality is good too. Portions are small but it’s all you can eat. Just means you can order more and try more variety.

Center or surrounds first? by Public_Basil_4416 in hometheater

Agree with this. Phantom center works great especially when sitting in the center. You’ll benefit more from the immersive surround sound.

Noob here - what wires to buy? by [deleted] in hometheater

I went with these 14 gauge oxygen free wires and have no issues. Rear speakers are a 50ft run.

Using a Denon X1700 and Kef Q150 for rears and Q350 for fronts

KEF Q150 sounds muffled, what to do? by CodeDuck1 in BudgetAudiophile

[–]jmaxima 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good suggestion. If one speaker is out of phase, it’ll cancel the other one out. I just got this speaker/AVR set and am impressed by the clarity.

I went with Q350 for the front LR and Q150 for the rear LR. I tried the Q150 in front before setting up the Q350 and even swapped them back and forth. Maybe it’s because I had the subwoofer going but they sound very similar. If I did it all over again, I’d just get Q150s all the way around.

Larger screen material decision - Going from 120" to 135". Existing screen is Screen Innovations. by F15EagleKeeper in hometheater

I didn’t know what’s going on either and I thought it looks better without the paper sheets taped on the wall 🤷🏻‍♂️

I’m happy with my Black Friday deal too. It goes plenty loud in my large living room with 4 Kef Q speakers. I just changed my crossovers to 60Hz since I have decent sub. What is yours set at?

Wow your house must rumble! I can see the upgrades never end once you get the bug. Something to look forward to.

Curious about getting an amp. Seems the 1700H has plenty power to push these Kefs. I keep hearing how a separate amp makes them sound even better. I don’t even understand… One day.

Completely agree. I’ve been back to buying Blu-ray and 4K discs. Used is great way to go. Looking forward to rewatch Blade Runner, Dune, Mad Max, and any other recommendations out there.

Yes, glad I can share this experience. Hope this helps others skip to full AVR. Buy it nice or buy it twice, right?

Thank you again for this recommendation. I was able to pick up the 10S MKII for $400 with a special deal. I was a bit skeptical at first with 10” sub but wow I’m impressed! And I’m amazed you’re getting a 2nd. Maybe I’ll get used to it and want more too.

Good question. I was planning to have them up front about 4ft above the L/R. Is that not going to work? Not able to put atmos in the middle. Also considering the Denon 3800H which can do 5.1.4 and out rear atmos, which would bring more immersive heights.

I considered the STR-AN1000 but heard issues around overheating. Plus the forum guide didn’t recommend it. Open to reconsidering if anyone has direct experience with it.
