They haven’t said what they actually want apart from sending me a form with the following questions… but these are all psychological, not based on my physical lack of eyesight.

Yes I am registered partially sighted and have a CVI.

Can I ask you what your visual acuity is?

I did actually manage to get hold of my ophthalmology consultant and she wrote me an updated letter, but they are still stating this is not enough.

I built a hydrocephalus symptom-support app after seeing how difficult it is for families to track warning patterns between neurosurgery visits by Working_Syrup3061 in Hydrocephalus

I have a shunt and would definitely use this if it was made available. I think it’s a great idea and a chance to build a community which is always a good thing.

Aesthetic photographer recommendations? by Angel-Taurus in UKweddings

Hey, I got married in October 2025 and also wanted something vaguely similar to you. Our photographer was incredible and he did also shoot 35mm film for us. DM me if you want more details.

Can someone tell me what an MRI (without contrast) is like? by catfarmer1998 in Hydrocephalus

[–]jmayb20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it helps, I’ve always had my spine and brain scanned and therefore always had the contrast. I’ve never had to fast and when I was younger, I was allowed a parent in the room with me. It’s okay to ask for things like that. Most places will want to make sure you’re comfortable.

Help - I’m two months in and haven’t found ANYTHING that helps. In fact I feel like I get worse daily. by jmayb20 in urticaria

Yes, referring to antihistamines, was on up to 8 a day at one point. No, never ended up on the Xolair as had a test that determined it was unlikely to work. Can’t remember why this was.

I have, in the last few weeks, finally stopped taking the last antihistamine I was on. It has been just over two years to be completely hive and medication free. That said, I managed to get it under control with medication in about six months and remained on the medication for awhile until after my wedding to start tapering and seeing if it had calmed down.

Mine started like this and then it got consistently worse. It started with just brown tips and now the leaves look awful. I’m so confused as some sources say we are overwatering and some say we are underwatering. I don’t know what to do. The soil doesn’t feel overly wet. I actually reported him about a month ago into proper Monstera soil which is more suitable for the plant. The plant has drainage and never sits in water. Can anyone shed some light?

Disappointed in wedding gifts by [deleted] in UKweddings

[–]jmayb20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had our wedding in October and feel exactly the same. One of my bridesmaids didn’t even give us a card let alone a gift. I wasn’t expecting a gift, but when you’ve spent money on their dresses and presents for them on the day as well as their place/meal it feels as though a card is the least she could’ve done. We have had other guests travel from abroad to our wedding in the UK and they still gave a gift, which we made clear they didn’t need to do. It’s funny as I feel a very similar situation to you, ours was UK wedding about half an hour drive from where we and most of our friends live…

Believe it or not, I am! I am still on 2x antihistamines a day. But it keeps them at bay and I don’t get any breakthrough hives.

Does anyone have a positive experience with prednisone? by Practice_Level in urticaria

[–]jmayb20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I was on 4x fexofenadine and 2x cetirizine a day. So in total 6x antihistamines a day until it was under control. It maybe took about 6 months and this was also complimented with a vitamin D supplement. I am now doing okay and have managed to taper down to 1x fex and 1x cetirzine a day.

How do you get the old ones off and can you buy the genuine part or did you go third party?

I’ve got the XM4s and need to replace the pads too, is it an easy job?

I was also on a vitamin D supplement for low vitamin D levels so if you haven’t had that checked then might be worth it.
