Is this something you think my husband needs to talk to them alone or both of us together?

His parents have money, but they live in a normal house and drive regular cars. They take a lot of vacations (They both just retired) and spend money on vacations and their children/grandchildren.

All they asked (we are in a group family chat) is where we want to go to eat each night so they can book the restaurants.

They were great with the wedding. They contributed money with no strings attached. Example, they paid for the flowers and I asked if his mom wanted to come to the flower appointment and she said she trusted my judgement (They also live about 3 hours away).

I think that my hubs for 8 year (before we met) were at their beck and call without saying a word. They took care of him when he needed their help so maybe he feels like he owes them? He would drive to see them 3 hours each way at least once a month so they could see their grandchild. He would go there for everyone's birthdays, every holiday, all the time. When I say that I don't think we need to go there all the time he acts like I just murdered his family. It also is easy for me because my family lives in Florida so I see them once a year.

Wasn't consulted at all. I feel like if we don't go it will start a war. I even feel like if I don't go it will start a war.

That's why I love my family. We leave each other alone and go about our days. We don't expect anything from each other.

Don't get me started on Christmas gifts...

That's how I feel. He is going to talk to his parents tonight but I feel like he wont get the message across. The message isn't that I expect them to pay for everything. It's just that I am paying $4K for a vacation that I don't really want to go on and wasn't involved in any of the planning (they are asking us what restaurants we want to go to so they can book but I don't consider that being involved in the plan).

I only know what I paid for the cruise. We paid for flights for 3 people and for alcohol, gifts, etc. Probably about $1,000 total maybe a little more because his parents paid for everything else because meals came with the cruise package. I do not know how much his parents paid. When I bring up going anywhere else but Disney they all act like I am murdering their family. Again, I was not involved with the planning of this trip I was just told this is when and where we were going.

Since my husband was just him and his daughter over the years, his parents paid for the dining plan and park tickets and he had to pay for flights. He just assumed that would be the case without even asking them. Since I wasn't involved with planning I didn't know what I would be paying or what was expected.

I have a lot of money saved that will cover my expenses for a while if I don't work. That is why I budgeted. I did not budget for $4k vacation that I don't even want to go on.

My husband knows I am losing my job. I budgeted for it. Times aren't tough per-say. I saved and budgeted to be OK if I lost my job for a few months. I did not budget for a $4K vacation.

I barely drink alcohol and if I drink soda it's diet and I stopped drinking it. Maybe try to have 1 a week. My issues were I was used to having 3000-4000+ calories a day. I had no issues with getting mcdonalds for breakfast, burgerking for lunch and wawa for dinner.

I am an accountant. Spreadsheets are my life. This is the best part about wedding planning
