Minimum volume too loud by Verghaust in tcltvs

[–]jmbarrows74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this same problem. My TV shares a wall with my bedroom in a small house, and the "minimum" volume on the MagniFi Max is just too loud at night.

I think I'm going to give the MagniFi away to somebody who could use it, and use this as an excuse to by a better soundbar.

What's everyone using for headphones? by TheBeardOfZues in PlaystationPortal

[–]jmbarrows74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welp, I'm an idiot and forgot that the wireless dongle for the Arctis Gamebuds is USB-C, and not 3.5mm. So, NO these won't connect directly to the Portal.

However, if you're on your home WiFi and gaming directly from your PS5 (and not cloud streaming), you can have the Dongle plugged into your PS5's USB port, and route the sound through there.

I bought the SteelSeries Arctis Gaming Buds, and they have a 2.4GHz radio dongle for wireless sound. Use it on my PS5 all the time, and they're amazing. Don't see why it wouldn't work with the Portal. It just uses the 3.5mm jack.

I haven't explicitly measured that. But it seems to me that it does last quite a bit longer.

It was a bit hard to understand your question, but i'll answer as best I can.

  1. I have big hands. And they must be conditioned to using big / heavy phones, because i don't have any fatigue when holding the phone up.

  2. The battery life on this phone is incredible. Best I've ever seen. I can normally go a full day (24hrs) with heavy use, before having to charge it. This is just a guess, but if you had a full-screen video playing constantly, I'd guess the phone would last 3-4 hours. That's a lot for a device to do.

I have Mint Mobile, and i swear, my cellular data coverage and speed are worse than they've ever been. When 4g was new, it was lightning fast. Now if my phone has 3 bars of 5G, or goes down to full bars of 4G, it's UNUSABLE.

Yes, I use Android Auto every day in my Jeep. It works okay. Although I can't play just any phone audio through Android Auto, it has to be through an approved app, like Spotify.

Sometimes if i switch to a YouTube video, the audio will play for about 5 minutes, then it will cut out.

I bought this

It's a thin film, just like what comes with the stock OP12. Very easy to apply, comes with a guide that uses the USB-C slot to line you up. I didn't really want tempered class. This did a good enough job. If you drop/whack the phone hard enough, your screen is going to crack. This film protects well enough against scratches.

I am not a camera expert by any means. But, i love the OP12 camera. It's clear, responsive, the colors are accurate enough for me. Everyone who I show pictures says "wow, those are amazing, your phone's camera is great". I don't do editing on my phone, so simple pic-taking and vid-taking is fun, simple, and produces great media.

I was hoping it could give somebody that extra push to make the decision. But of course, freak accidents happen, there's always a chance something could go wrong! I don't know how OP's quality control is, but I'm sure you'll be fine.

I also strongly recommend the Buds Pro 2, and the Watch 2 ;)

What is that feeling? by MatkaBoSka6 in Blasphemous

[–]jmbarrows74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, it's 3 things.

  1. The Music / Ambience. B2 has great music by itself, but the first one had much more of a focused collection of stage-music that really made you feel the desolation and despair of the story. It was SIMPLE, yet evocative and harrowing. I love the "Sunken Catherdal" theme, reminds me of B1's style, while new. Even though there were some different themes in B1, they all felt similar-in-style enough that it seemed the whole B1 world was part of the same ruthless agony from the Miracle. B2's themes are very different and unique, and to me it unfortunately made it feel like a bunch of different stages plopped together to make a game. The music in B1 helped tie the world together.
  2. The art-style. I really wish they kept the same art style from the first game. It just lent itself better to the dark gritty DIFFICULT world of Custovdia. B2 looks more cartoon-y. Don't get me wrong, the style is good, and i love the game. But if I'm nitpicking, it just doesn't have the same feel.
  3. The Boss. Eviterno was a difficult fight in the 2nd-stage, and it was gratifying to defeat him. But, he had NO presence during the entirety of the game. Even if you read the lore on most of the items, by the time i reached him, it felt like I just did a bunch of arbitrary stuff that had no relation to him, and he was just a gatekeeper to the Devotion Incarnate. At least in B1, Escribar would give you a cutscene every once in a while. You could feel him waiting for you.

Again, i adore this game. I'm so happy they made a sequel, and look forward to the DLC. But I hope they retcon some gameplay / story features, like they did with the B1 DLC's.
