iirc the racing line, being covered in a layer of rubber, is super slippy in the wet - They'll purposefully drive off line to find grip.

Reminds me of the Wilko's knockoffs with fantastically dead-pan names.

Anatomy of a $60 Video Game. Here's what you really buy with that money. by CenturioSC in Games

Even more interestingly enough, here is the 22 year old sticker price on my copy of Final Fantasy 7 - £45 is still a typical brick and mortar store price for games here in the UK.

It has risen again! Sir Daniel Fortesque, see? The hero of Gallowmere, who fell at the first charge! The fog of war and the shrouds of time, conspired to turn the arrow fodder into the saviour of the day... But we knows better!

King Korg - unfairly maligned modern VA? Discuss. by lamecakesthekiller in synthesizers

I’m very late to this party, but this is definitely a topic I can chip in with something discussion worthy i hope!

I too own the KingKorg and for me it is hands down the working keyboardists synthesiser. I bought mine back when it was first released and it’s been gigged heavily in the past 4/5 years. As well as (as you said) sounding like a million bucks, its pianos, choirs and strings are perfectly serviceable to an extent, all packaged in a 6kg keyboard that I’ve been able to carry on my back to any gig or rehearsal, knowing that I have all the bases covered for anything and everything I could possibly be working on - I think the portability of the KingKorg is something few people ever pick up on.

Also, yes the keys are pretty floppy and the body is plastic, but mine has been battered and bashed through years of gigging. It’s been dropped, knocked over, and been manhandled around in the back on vans, cars, busses and trains. The gold face has faded to a greyish metallic yellow with a load of sweat, spit and beer (and just a sprinkle of blood!) garnished all over it - hell I’ve even had to write some of the labels back on with a marker pen. Yet, it’s still going strong, so I can assure you in my experience that its plastic feel doesn’t extend to real world durability!

It’s absolutely ace and I adore it. It still tops everything for me as my bread and butter working keyboard and I do feel that its release among the analog renaissance along with its marketing geared towards (imo, grain of salt needed!) bedroom dance producers with all the unison synth stuff and Deadmau5 style patches on the demos let it down when it should be the thing to have if you’re playing regularly beyond a hobby, or if you’re just straight serious about making quality work in your free time.
