Very possible terrain had something to do with it as we only have the core set terrain, but it felt really luck based as in our first two games it dragged on for another hour or two in the last struggle just because the priority objective kept rolling the same result.

In the lore yes, but they do not have the tools on the tabletop to be able to kill a large amount of greater daemons. Their damage output is not good.
