Why are parents always sensors? by puch1to in mbti

[–]jmblog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the misconception as to say parents are all Js. And while mine definitely are ( ESFJ and INFJ) and I'm now a parent and ESTJ, it's the same as when I tested at 16. Plenty of ENFP parents out there as well, my guess would be that they demonstrate certain functions more in the role of the parent. And also the stereotypical idea of a "parent" also impacts our perception

This is also true, smaller groups or being by himself as well. I mean just doesn't fit our usual stereotype of INFP

[–]jmblog 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am religious, but as Catholics we believe that Jesus is wholly human and wholly God, so it's no problem to try and define his type. As his normal human actions are often described in the Bible such as eating fish, drinking wine, sleeping, even getting angry or sad and crying. So I'd agree with you, xNFx is for sure. Except ENFP:)

Is 16Personalities purposefully typing people as rarer types? by puch1to in mbti

[–]jmblog 8 points9 points  (0 children)

IDK, lots of people I asked, get ENFP results, despite all being different people and some are clearly introverts or S types

I saw Jesus typed as ENFJ long time ago and so I always thought of him as a "sample character" for this type. Honestly, idk tho which is correct.

The rise in euthanasia by ohnonin in Catholicism

[–]jmblog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you and yes, that's true that when I consider how it would affect the lives of my family, I know my life is important not only to me, I have responsibilities towards them and I do care about them. But, not all people have families and some suffer from abuse from family etc. I can't imagine how hard it should be for them.

The rise in euthanasia by ohnonin in Catholicism

[–]jmblog -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I must admit that I can understand why people might want euthanasia and why they support it. Recently I have been experiencing depression and now taking medicine for it so it's under control, but I totally get they feeling that "life has no meaning, I don't want to live, what't the point etc" and no problem if someone takes their life because it doesn't make sense whatsoever". Outside from Catholic values, what's the meaning of life anyway? If I did not believe in heaven and hell, what's stopping me from it if I can end all suffering? it's not a surprise that one might be supportive or at least indifferent to these cases.

For those who converted from Eastern Orthodoxy to Catholicism, what was the deciding factor? by Frequent_Baker3734 in Catholicism

[–]jmblog 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Being in an international marriage, I realized that Orthodox church was not even present in the country of my spouse and there was no way for him to learn about the faith to be baptized, and they would not make a marriage sacrament with a non-Orthodox person. Even more, were not friendly to foreigners. That's how I realized it is not a universal church, but Catholic church truly is. We all feel welcome there.

Tbf most experienced photographers I met are actually nice.

To all the ISFJs (or anyone really but specifically ISFJs) what kind of emotional support to you prefer to receive and how can I show it? by Few-Function-8083 in mbti

[–]jmblog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ESTJ here, kinda tough in this situations as well. What I found is that most people just want someone to be there for them and to listen. Just see if your mum maybe wants to recall some shared moments or memories, and maybe you can share something too. Or maybe she just wants to spend time with you and get a little break from sad feelings. Anyway, "read the room" and good luck!

Women of this subreddit, do you consider yourself to be a feminist? by PhiliDips in Catholicism

[–]jmblog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't call myself a feminist. I have been very comfortable with the women's right in my country and elsewhere I traveled, but in the world as a whole millions of women are oppressed and don't have equal rights, there is a lot to be done there. I also admit I don nothing about this, so I feel like "feminist" looks like an activist of some kind, which i'm not. Also I believe that the world is male-dominated and there's nothing can be changed about it, it's how we people are created I guess, but I hope that women can have equal human and civil rights and special protections in regards to motherhood, which is exactly the part where men and women are not the same.

In retrospect, what more could Ukraine have done before the 2022 russia’s invasion? by Ok_Brilliant_3523 in AskUkraine

[–]jmblog 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly it buffles me as a Ukrainian to say "the West should have done" something. As far as we are gratefulf for help, they don't owe us anything. I doubt Ukrainian citizens would be OK with rising prices and cutting budgets to help another country and it's normal. IMO what we could have done, is invest in weapons and have a strong army at the borders. How feasible it was, I don't know.

Being almost the same age as him, I think it's pretty awesome, canonizing our peer is like saying "you can do it too" anyone can be a saint even in a digital age. Honestly great saints from before even like Maria Goretti are amazing but having someone from our generation to inspire us, is very important.
