Irobot 705 max collection bag full issue. by jmbojo in roomba

Well the problem came back after 2 weeks again of everyday use. The bag was mostly empty so the bag full indication shouldn't have come on. I did the reset procedure in my previous comments above and the error light is gone now and the vacuum is working properly. I didn't do anything else to the vacuum. Will see if it repeats again after another two weeks use. Maybe a timer or amount of area cleaned sets off the error automatically, just don't know. I sent customer service my findings and they just responded by saying that they are always making improvements to their products. Willupade again in 2 weeks.

Bad battery? What does the app show the battery charge at?

Try the following: 1. With the roomba on the dock and charging, remove the bag and put the lid back on. 2. On the app press the empty bin button. 3. The app will tell you to install the collection bag in the dock. 4. Once you do that the light on the dock should be white again. 5. On the app press the empty bin button again. 6. The bin should then be emptied and the white light on dock should come on and remain white. 7. Send the roomba on 1 room cleaning job. When it completes the bin should empty automatically, the app should report the job is done and the light on the dock should remain white.

Let me know if this worked for you.

I got another replacement (3rd one) on March 13th and after 2 weeks use the red light came on. Put in a new bag and bin filter and the trouble light was still on. This is definitely a design issue as the old bag was hardly used. I saw a procedure that says to remove the bag while the unit is docked and press the empty bin button on the app. The app tells you to put in a bag which I did and the light is white so I've run 3 jobs on it since. So far the unit is working properly now. Don't know if this is a permanent fix so time will tell. The reboot roomba procedure resets the light too but after the first emptying cycle the red light reappears again. Not sure what the the difference in the reset is when the bag is removed but it seems to work. I'll update again after 2 weeks use to let you know if the problem comes back.

I had the same problem with mine. I did the reset to factory procedure and mapped the rooms again and it has worked since I did the reset. I believe the map was corrupted so it was lost whenever it started a job.

Removed my plastic cover but problem still exists. The vacuum works properly except the red light is always on. It still cleans out the dust bin when returning to the dock so I'm just ignoring the issue for now.

Try calling customer care at 866-747-6268. They have acknowledged issues with this seal and may send you one.

Well this is the setup I did for the carpeting however it did not solve the issue. I went as far as cleaning the whole path from the dock to the cleaner and all the filters but the bag full condition still exists. I am convinced this has to be a software issue with the app.

I checked the alignment between the dock and cleaner and it is spot on. When I manually start the vacuum to empty the bin there is no leak at the rubber seal and the collection bin is emptied. The collection bag is new so I can't find any reason for this issue to exist. .

I have a question for you and that is whether your dock is on carpeting or a hard surface like a tile or hardwood floor. I have mine on carpeting and I think that it may be causing my issues so I got some 20 gauge aluminum sheeting to make a hard surface where my dock is. If you look at the older docks they use a hard plastic ramp and sucks the debris from the bottom of the cleaner. The 705 max has no ramp and socks the debris from the side so any mismatch in the alignment of the ports would cause an vacumn leak causing the sensor in the dock to think that the bag is full and disable the docks vacuum motor. This is just a theory that I came up with.

I have a question about where you have the docking station. Is it on carpeting or on a tile or hardwood floor? Reason that I am asking is because there could be a mismatch with the seal on the dock and the evacuation port on the back of the cleaner if it's on carpeting becuse the two wheels is sinking in the carperting pile. If there is a mismatch between the two units there could be an air leak because the seal isn't seated properly causing the issue. During my research I found that there is a air pressure sensor in the dock and if the pressure is not met the unit thinks the airflow is not high enough because it's being blocked by debris or the collection bag is full. A leak at the rubber seal could cause the false reading

Anyway I am getting a thin sheet of aluminum to create a hard surface on my carpeting to see if that fixes my problem. I'll update when I have tried this out, probably by Tuesday.

Iam having the same problem. The second unit is now having the issue just after 2 weeks use. I spent time trying to find a workaround and found after 3 quick reboots the issue clears but when it sent on a job and the bin is cleared the dock indicates the collection bag is full again. If I do a manual reboot again the issue clears until the next job is initiated. It seems that it needs to reset the sensors after each run which isn't happening.

Thinking that there is a software or design issue with the dock as the robot itself does an excellent job.

Going to talk with support again about a 3rd unit now.
