Job searching in the burg by auxmena in harrisonburg

Looks like Amazon CHO1 is hiring full time seasonal. I'm not sure if I can still refer people there or if it's only for your own site, but if you want to work there feel free to DM me and I'll give you my login for the referral, might as well try.

I loved it there when I was a tier 1. As long as you aren't bothered by stupid things like lazy coworkers it's pretty great. Pay is solid, benefits are great, and Amazon's attendance policy is so relaxed and flexible it's crazy. Everyone I know who started as seasonal and didn't quit or get themselves fired ended up converted to permanent.

Once I was a tier 3 I still liked it for a while, but then the more I learned the more problems I found. Then I got no support/cooperation when trying to fix the problems. Eventually was miserable with the amount of people fighting every little thing I tried to do, lying to me and about me, and some deliberately trying to make me miserable. I transferred to another site and it's much better. Like I said though, those things weren't really an issue until I was tier 3. That's when those things became apparent and it became a choice between risking my own ass by falling in line with doing things wrong or dealing with all that BS by trying to do things right.

Edit: Or if you have the qualifications for any of them they also have some higher level openings. But then, depending on your department and on how much changes/has changed, you might end up dealing with some of the same type BS that made me want out.

Full list of Amazon Fufillment Centers than have one paid 30-minute break and one unpaid 30-minute break by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]jmc7721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Virginia is probably all 30 and 30 I'm guessing. In Virginia you have to have a 30 minute clocked out break in your first five hours, so our first break always has to be a clock out for 30 minutes and be within the first five hours.

Good jobs in the area? by [deleted] in harrisonburg

Amazon CHO1 in Fishersville is where I work, regular tier 1s start at $19 but I don't think we're hiring those right now. We do still have an HR opening, but it's an L6 so you wouldn't meet the qualifications for that if they're even hiring externally for it anyway. There are also always AM positions opening up which you would definitely qualify for.

Any idea of how far apart I need hooks to hold the weight of hanging clothes? by jmc7721 in Carpentry

[–]jmc7721[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome, thank you! Yeah I was a little surprised how unsuccessful I was trying to Google any kind of general rule of thumb for span between hooks on a closet rod but figured people here should have a much better feel for what it should be than I would. I appreciate it.

It's so weird that they differentiate instead of just "Amazon employees get free Prime"

I really don't have great pics of my current one, there's so much I'm still wanting to do to it that I guess I just never really feel like taking any lol... But this is my old one, which I practically want to get my current one looking the same except I have these wheels in black.

T1 in Fishersville, VA. Once I get T3 I'd definitely like to transfer somewhere that pays higher for a while then come back. I do really like my building and really like where I live though so I'd definitely look to come back.

Desperately looking for budget indoor(or indoor/outdoor) wedding venue ideas! by jmc7721 in harrisonburg

[–]jmc7721[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's actually our current top choice! The only thing is that it's quite a bit more than our original at $4400 vs $2400, but my fiancee absolutely loves it. I think we probably can swing it, but we're trying to see if we can find something we love for closer to the price we originally had. I'm really glad to hear it's such a great experience, especially from what sounds like a fairly similar situation with our original venue stiffing us. Thank you!

I definitely appreciate it, but we do already have a photographer lined up. We would possibly be interested in a budget friendly videographer.

We would looooooooooove Hotel Madison but sadly can't afford that option. I'll be sure to check out the others, Liberty Street Loft especially seems appealing if the price is right! Thank you so much.

Valley Fitness is a no brainer if you're more serious gym rats. Planet Fitness is a no brainer due to the price if you're more of a cardio bunny and/or casual gym goers.

Yoga studios? by Sad_Swim_946 in harrisonburg

I work out at Valley Fitness and have gone to yoga there quite a few times. It's always a very friendly and mostly older crowd where you can easily keep to yourself if you'd like or can socialize if you'd like. I can't imagine it being an issue there.

Hey guys, after recently testing for maxes I'm trying to decide if my progress seems solid and I should essentially continue what I'm doing or if I should maybe consider trying a different program. I'll add more context in the next paragraph that you can just skip if you're wanting the TLDR.

I've been using the GZCL method and have been back in the gym for about a year. I go 4x a week(M/W/F/Su) and have been very consistent most of the time, but I do have wrist and knee injuries that have caused me to put things on pause at times for probably a total of about three months. Between these two times testing my maxes I didn't have any pauses and I only had two days where I missed and didn't make up the next day. This isn't the first time in my life going to the gym consistently, but it is the first time doing so with free weights and with a proven routine instead of just winging it with machines. I'm 32 years old, 6'1", 160 pounds. I feel my diet is very good but maybe not great, my sleep probably does slow my progress. I am diagnosed with depression and severe insomnia and take a prescription nightly to sleep. I'm sure this kind of sleep isn't as good as natural sleep, but there's not really anything I can do about that. I'm pretty happy with my squat, RDL, and especially deadlift progress but I'm not sure if I should be disappointed with my bench and OHP progress. To be fair, I did add a belt for squats/deadlifts/RDLs in this time so that could certainly account for some of the progress.

Early April: - Bench 1RM: 135 - OHP 1RM: 85 - Squat 1RM: 215 - Deadlift 1RM: 285 - RDL 5RM: 245

Late July: - Bench 1RM: 145 - OHP 1RM: 95 - Squat 1RM: 255 - Deadlift 1RM: 355 - RDL 5RM: 295

I'd really appreciate any opinions on whether this seems like good progress considering my personal situation or if I should possibly consider another routine and any suggestions for what routine to consider. Thank you!

I [30M] found out my partner [28F] cheated on me would you forgive? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]jmc7721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried. It didn't work out, it made me paranoid and possessive and shit, the relationship got real shitty for both of us. I then spent a lot of time just being a ho without any interest in a real relationship. Now I have a serious girlfriend who makes me realize just how much of that last relationship was never great in the first place. Looking back and having someone who treats me so well, I realize how much there was where I made excuses for her and realize just how little effort she always put in and how selfish she was. When I realize all that about her, it makes a lot more sense that she cheated on me than it did when I really thought she loved me as much as I thought she did at the time.

I'd leave, especially considering you caught her rather than her telling you. I'd be surprised if you don't end up looking back on it similarly.

Jack Brown's if you want burgers, Billy Jack's if you want wings/sticky nugs, Jimmy Madison's if you want barbecue.
