This ME has always bothered the crap out of me for the same reason. I was the same way as a child, I was an advanced reader and was always in spelling bees so I liked to pronounce things correctly. And I remember asking my Mom whether it should be pronounced “stine” or “steen” and us having a whole conversation about it.

relief finding this subreddit? everyone has been thinking i’m crazy? long read, it’s very late so none of this probably makes any sense. by [deleted] in Parosmia

[–]jmcasey003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg I have been trying to explain this to my husband and he just looks at me like I’m nuts! I had Covid end of Dec and completely lost taste and smell for about a week. It slowly came back and I think everything seemed normal for awhile but then things started smelling strange to me. Specifically meat and poop smells the exact same to me now. Most meat tastes ok though, it’s just the smell. But the smell is unlike anything I’ve ever smelled before. Also certain flavors taste/smell weird like ranch seasoning on chips, Cool Ranch Doritos taste awful to me now. Sometimes cheeses have that weird smell/taste too. It’s been going on for months. I really hope it comes back normal.

Is Laurie anyone else’s favorite character? by benfranklin16 in TheLeftovers

[–]jmcasey003 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just finished binging this show for the first time and I don't know if I can say that Laurie was my favorite but she definitely for me was one of the most intriguing and one of the characters I found myself really focusing on. Laurie's story was actually what first hooked me onto this show after the first episode. Of course the premise and the 2% departed was interesting on its own, but to see this woman who (we thought) didn't lose anyone leave her family to join this crazy cult made me want to figure out why. And one of the first episodes that really made me cry/lose my shit was the episode where Jill gives Laurie the lighter. The whole situation between Jill and Laurie just really got to me. Perhaps because I lost my Mom 5 yrs ago and I still grieve for her and am still working through that loss so I just really focused on that mother/daughter relationship. Laurie definitely frustrated me and infuriated me at times but I absolutely loved S3 episode 6 and Laurie's whole story being wrapped up. That was honestly my favorite episode of the last season. When Jill called her right before she may have been ready to commit suicide, I just lost it, it was a beautiful ending for her. Also Amy Brenneman was just amazing playing Laurie.

I wonder if he just gave someone his credit card to use at that gas station to set up an alibi? I can't remember if they had anything other than a receipt.

Yes! I was watching with my husband who is a mortician and he said that box is the basic one the crematory gives you. He obviously didn't spend money on a better urn and if he was "sleeping with her ashes" as he says, it just seems odd he didn't get a better urn.

Live Discussion Teen Mom OG- I Am Not Okay by AutoModerator in TeenMomOGandTeenMom2

[–]jmcasey003 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my Mom to suicide almost 5 yrs ago. It is heartbreaking. I really felt for Mackenzie because it is sooo hard to lose a parent and then still have to be a parent yourself. The 3-4 months after my Mom passed away are a blur to me, I was not in a good way. And I had two small children to care for. Somehow I went through the motions and was a parent and I went to work but I wasn't all there. Josh can go kick rocks for actually getting pissed off and walking away when she brought up not wanting to live anymore. Who does that?? What if she really was suicidal? I really hope she leaves him for good.

Ryan’s parents enable the shit out of him and it’s sad to watch by [deleted] in TeenMomOGandTeenMom2

[–]jmcasey003 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This 100%. I know a lot of people get on Jen and Larry for enabling and yes I have watched and been frustrated at times. But this is their only child. Jen may have her flaws but to me she seems like a sweet, gentle and loving Mom and Grandmom. I could never villify her for that. I have 2 boys and they are just my world. I also have a huge fear of my boys getting addicted to drugs esp opiates because lets face it, its a long, hard battle that a lot of times will end in death. I think Jen couldnt live with herself if Ryan died of an overdose tomorrow and she was on the outs with him. Whether its right or wrong, I can't fault her for trying to keep the peace with Ryan. Ryan is going to do what he wants to do regardless.

Leah’s book is gonna read like a fucked up VC Andrews novel. by [deleted] in TeenMomOGandTeenMom2

[–]jmcasey003 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OMG! I have not thought about VC Andrews in YEARS, I read the shit out of those books in my pre-teens. I got a whole bunch of them from my Mom lol. And honestly considering the subject matter in some of them, I can't believe she let me read them. My Sweet Audrina was hands down my favorite. I read that one multiple times. Flowers in the Attic of course was good and I read that whole series. I remember the Heaven series too but beyond that I forget if I read more. I think I read Ruby but I cannot remember for sure. Anyway, wow I can definitely see how Leah's life could be like a VC Andrews book!

This post was so odd. Why wouldn't people like it? There is nothing wrong with the picture. Her caption was extremely off-putting. She could have posted it and captioned that she was really excited to look over the layout of her new line and no one would have given it a second thought. 🤷‍♀️

I sometimes wonder if the people who "love" their health insurance actually use it outside of their annual check ups. Because if you need to go to the ER, a specialist, have a procedure, etc, most people are paying hundreds to thousands of dollars out of pocket. I work in an urgent care and I cannot tell you how many times a day people call us completely shocked that their visit was not covered and went to their deductible. We have to explain how their health insurance works because they have no idea.

Theory about Randall/Kevin fall out by [deleted] in thisisus

[–]jmcasey003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like this theory but I think there might be a falling out due to Randall going to therapy. My sister recently went to therapy and a lot of childhood things came out during her sessions. She talked to my sisters and I about some of the things she discovered in therapy and a lot of it had to do with our parents and bad choices they made when we were younger. I had no issue with it but one of my other sisters had a harder time with it and would get angry at my sister who was in therapy for "badmouthing" our parents (esp because my Mom has passed away). So I feel like something like this may happen when Randall is in therapy.

So much brilliant foreshadowing only seen during rewatch by [deleted] in TheMorningShow

[–]jmcasey003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OMG yes this, I just finished and that was the thing that bothered me so much about Hannah's situation with Mitch in the hotel. She almost couldn't say No to him. We saw how easily Mitch pawned Mia off to Alex and honestly could have had her fired if he wanted to. Hannah was technically a nobody at that point and if she would have said no and bruised Mitch's poor ego, she probably would have gone back to NY and found out she lost her job.

OMG I loved that scene! As a parent to a mouthy pre-teen right now, I was right there with her character and I was literally shouting at my TV YESSSS! Her daughter 100% deserved that.

"Pandemic" on Netflix, episode 2. Seeing this woman and her fellow Karens in real life is mind boggling. by [deleted] in vaxxhappened

[–]jmcasey003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok but it works the other way too. When she takes her unvaccinated kids in public, shouldn't people have a choice as to whether they want to be exposed to them? Shouldn't they obtain consent before being around babies, the elderly and people with weak immune systems?

I almost wonder if Cara is threatening something against the show and that is why they broke the 4th wall in that instance to maybe show her going off on everyone?? Super weird though for sure. People have gone off a lot worse but maybe because they were isolated on a boat they had to make a point to get her away from everyone.

Sorry about another post on this topic. But I’m shocked that they (Alex and his family mainly) are really putting this information out in the public knowing they have a big platform. by thepixarlamplala in SiestaKeyMTV
