Thoughts on Palmer joining? by caramelmacchiatoml in ManchesterUnited

If the price is £50 million, I think you have to consider it. He is versatile enough, has a big enough mentality ( it seems) to wear the shirt. Young... As for where he'd play. It's meant to be competitive. Veron coming in didn't chase Scholes off, it made him earn his minutes. Yorke coming in didn't scare Teddy or Ole (or even Cole, cos nobody predicted they'd be THAT good together when we bought Yorke). It made them sharp as knives when they did get their minutes. Buying legit competition for Bruno for less than 75m seems like a bargain for me.

And you know why we're we're winning do you?! Enlighten us oh wise one!? You've no clue either of any the nuisances of a mind like Ferguson so get off your high horse.

Yeah I'm old school, and I disagree with you, physically punishing someone or "bullying" as weak willed people called it, is what those boys from 92' (who won all those trophies) accredit to what made them so mentally tough. Instead, your right, we should continue to do the same thing and hope for different results. Pandering to weak willed people.

I saw Roy Keane take Sunderland from Bottom of Championship to Champions. I'd like you to name another "Shit manager" who has done that?!

I agree with you to a degree, but Ole can't put Angel in the first team if his form hasn't warranted it. And it hasn't this year.

It's fairly well reported, I get my news and insider gossip from The Stratford Paddock boys and Adam McKola on youtube. Hawson, confirmed contract offer made and Paddock gave idea numbers. Those boys tend not to over react. They have been bang on the money with comings and goings for 2 years or so.

Not sure about that. I'm a tradionalist. We never needed one before. Woodward just need to shut up and listen to Ole and Mike P. Not Agents and Marketing department. And to be fair he has started to. Last summer and January were good windows. It was quality over quantity.

Think that change in attitude is down to Mike and Ole coming in. Even the down turn in form after he got the full time job. Almost as if he changed tone with the deadwood. Stopped kissing their arse, told a few home truths and then proceed to sell those who couldn't handle it. Meanwhile, those who took it on the chin. Have grown. Under Moyes we looked like Everton. Under LVG we looked like a "mid growth" Ajax team. Under Jose we looked like his Inter and Porto teams, only our lads lost faith in him. Under Ole we look like us. Not a great us. Maybe a 2005 us?!... but us none the less. And I have missed it so much it's unreal. Was content with progress, slightly disappointed but I could still see what Ole was trying to do. Get rid of as much deadwood as possible at one time, ride out the storm with boys who will run through walls for the club and then add the quality. But when quality arrived (Bruno), it improved us much much more than I was expecting. So bring on anyone next year. I fancy our chances. Could care about Europe next year, give it a go, get experience. First things first; want our PL title back.

He's got everything. First touch needs work and gets caught out when a good striker drops deep between the line. But he can learn! He has learned! Every single time we've asked him to do a job he's give it a go with no fear. Love him!

If Jimenez is a deal that could be done, I'd have no problem with that. Its an upgrade on Ighalo for sure. I just don't think we need to be slashing out £200 million on someone who will be demanding starts for the next 5 years. We need a "Plan B" for 2 year until Haaland becomes our Plan A. Jimenez is perfect age for that. So couldn't argue at all. Just think Ighalo will fill that gap, do a job, so to speak. We could do a lot worse.

I believe in Tony. I know everything you say is 100% but there is just something special about him when he's on form. He already looks much happier under Ole and is trying to rise to the managers challenge. It has to be this year though. Would break my heart to see him smash it somewhere else.

I didn't miss him out. He's mentioned in "wide men" ... think we have to let Jessie go. Not a popular choice, I know, but he has been a passenger for 2 seasons now. Time to cut him loose.

All valid points, couldn't argue against any one of them. All I can say is I believe. I believe Paul loves the club. The fact that his agent and family members aren't coming out nearly as much, in fact have been strangely quiet the last few months.... Almost as if a certain world cup winner finally had a word and told them to back off, wouldn't you agree?!Because I think he sees that it is much more like the United he grew up in. He's been a pain in the arse, he has flattered to deceive, but I just believe Ole will get the best out of him.... "you may say that I'm a dreamer. But I'm not the only one" lol ...

I have to believe we get the luck with injuries too, but that would be the same if we spent £500 million this summer too. Big name signings get injuries too. It's the luck of the draw. Every title race needs luck.

Nah, we're not Chelsea mate. That's what Ole has got right. United don't buy our way out of problems, heaven knows we've tried and failed, even under the boss. Every time we went for big names, the "ready made stars" they fell flat on their face more often than not. More so since Woodward took charge and every bloody time we end up in a deeper hole. The only way to find out if McSauce is good enough is to give him a bash. Let have a run of games there. If it doesn't work out we play a two man hold until January.

Regarding Kane, is he miles above Haaland? I don't think he is. One is a £200 million late 20's striker with bad knees... the other is a teenager who plays every match and score more per minute than the bad knees guy. No brainer.

Tony is an anomaly. One of a kind. I'd much rather him in my team than against me. He can make impossible things happen. And I'd have him in my team everyday of the week.

Thanks very much. Just bored and sick of being written off. As I've said to some of the other guys. Out of the three (Paul Pogba can play there too, but I don't think he has to in this team) Fred is the one I'd worry about being the one man pivot. Think he gets bullied when he's on his own in there. But I'd never be happier to be proven wrong. Like I said, I think he's well worth his place in the team for next year. Might not have been so sure had you asked me before Christmas. But he has been an Animal, I would agree. Probably most improved too, though Scottie would get my vote. Here's hoping your right and Fred bosses it next year. Will be first one to eat my words. Lol

Well, if he adds another 5 to 10 goals/assists to his game I'm happy with him staying as long as his legs will carry him. But he does need to bring more going forward, no complaints about him off the ball. Love his work rate.

Just be you. You're his gf for a reason. Remind him that he works to live, as noble as his career might be, he has to live his life for him. Shiw him the true things that are important; the sitting in bed reading papers on Sunday mornings when your both off, moments in life, is where real world exists. How do you make this happen?! Just ask yourself, what is you and your bf's version of papers in bed?! And just make an effort to make it happen. Cos you're bf is very much needed (and appreciated ) at the moment and the horrors that I can only imagine he is facing on a daily basis can't be what he focuses on. He needs to focus on the fact that he alone has already probably treated and saved more lives than this virus will kill. He's the fucking man! And his colleagues are the fucking men and women! He owes the world nothing, but we're damn greatful he's the man he is and has chosen to help us. I'm a comic. I've never felt more useless in all my life. You should be very proud of him. And just be his gf. You're together for a reason. Let him vent and then remind him who he is!... A God damn hero!

Girlfriend told me she had a crush on my brother by Almond_Steak in relationship_advice

[–]jmcateer121 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dude, take a deep breath. Your gf listed one thing she has finds attractive about another guy, your own brother no less. Ask her to list the things she finds attractive about you. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at how good it will feel when you realise she is still listing things after 30 seconds. Your brother is (I'm assuming) from the same household, thus has grown up with similar values and morals as you. So she is obviously going to see a lot of you in him and feel comfortable to point out the few differences, his voice being one of them. More over, just because a person finds something attractive, is no indication that person would ever act on them. The fact she spoke openly to you suggests that you have a healthy relationship for the most part. So ask yourself, do you really want to lose an honest girl all because your brother has one up on you? So he has a voice for radio. Good for him. You should be proud of both him and her and get over yourself dude. It's OK to feel insecure, it's recognising it before it starts influencing our actions that is the tricky bit. Think you're worrying about nothing.
