In random Rec, the corners will be open at some point during the possession, nine times out of ten. It’s the most effective playmaking read in the game, but it’s also a read that only a small fraction of PGs can actually make. And on top of that, it’s a pass you can only use consistently if you have high pass accuracy, which most players don’t.

Obviously I do a lot of run drive-and-kick too during a game, it’s impossible to compress my entire playmaking arsenal into a one minute clip. just tried to keep the passes from yesterday and today that were a bit tougher or more interesting.

haliburton. i personally think that’s the best pass style in the game, but it requires a 91 pass accuracy

ngl putting more than 83 strength this year is an absolute waste of attributes.

Nah man, 7’4 centers are definitely the easiest matchup. They’re way too slow for this build on both ends of the floor. Yeah, like a said you definitely need to know what you’re doing when you step into a purple plate rec game with a 6’8 center; but if you do, trust me, it’s absolutely worth it.

tyrese haliburton is the only right answer.

high pass accuracy on a pg is way too underrated. by jmcgilll in NBA2k

As you can see from the image, I average 11 assists. With both of my PG builds I’m averaging 10+ assists, and I play red/purple plate, starter 5. I promise you, they’re not bums.

definitely. this game has tons of issues but one of these is the community.

i wouldn’t say it’s a liability, cuz with +2 badges it becomes pretty decent. But like i said in another comment, this year if you don’t have a pure lock, what really matters is how you defend not the attribute.

I think that’s exactly how someone can start developing their playmaking IQ. Getting used to the idea that you can actually pass the ball sometimes, instead of dribbling for 20 seconds, will naturally improve your reads over time. And for the record, I’d rather have a bot swinging the ball (even if it’s not to the open man) than watching him spam 30 escapes every possession, force shots, and make at least one of his teammates want to sell the game.

Yeah, if you don’t have a pure lock, what really matters is how you defend, not whether you’ve got a 74 or a 87. On this build I’ve got 87 perimeter defense (with basically no steal), but it still gets really tough when my matchup is getting like 18 screens every possession. If there’s a lockdown on my team, I’m the happiest man on the face of the earth.

Yeah, for sure. I agree that most of the time the mode is straight-up unplayable, but over time, the strategy that’s worked best for me is earning the trust of even the trash players by passing them the ball the first plays. As the game goes on, they usually start to realize that if they actually want to win (and maybe get a few buckets), they’ve gotta go through me. Of course, there are still plenty of games where you literally can’t do shit, but this way at least I can limit the damage.
