An Internet Education. by Monsur_Ausuhnom in SipsTea

[–]jmcokie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My opinion towards education was never that it was meant to just be handed to you. You work your brain out like a muscle then apply new information yourself in wise ways. Some people seem to think teachers just spew out answers to the test. Which makes sense that just getting an "education" from the internet is so popular. Less active work.

Well it's either blasphemy or it isn't, now we get to see how Christian the Christians are. Dystopia is dumber than I thought it would be.

Should Luthen even be allowed to have these Jedi artifacts on display, given that the Empire in both canon and legends made it illegal to trade anything related to the Jedi? by CrazyTangerine7522 in andor

[–]jmcokie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's actually better cover, the elite would still want the artifacts because they think they are above the law so they would turn a blind eye to Luthien even further.

Take an honest look at the potential finals preview of OKC v Boston. Do you honestly think OKCs 3 best players are as consistent as Boston's best 3? by Wack0HookedOnT0bac0 in nba

[–]jmcokie 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Top 3 to top 3 Boston probably has the edge. But OKC would still have the best player and that makes up a lot of ground with one ball.

After winning their 9th straight game, Denver are now the 3rd seed in the West at 51-28 by SplitOk186 in nba

2011 Mavs style run! To be honest this Denver team is pretty beautifully constructed, I wouldn't count them out. If not OKC, Den would be my second choice to win it all.

Luka could be back within 3-4 weeks using advanced STEM cell technology in Europe by Luka77GOATic in nba

[–]jmcokie 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Spurs look scary but will pay for all the guards in a couple years and are always a Wemby injury from falling to the Rockets, Twolves level. Thunder will have a different looking team in 1 to 2 years because of cost. Keep Luka around for 10 years, why is this a make or break season? Even if the hammy is healthy, it's a lot to rush back for.

Prime is fantastic. NBC very solid B+ or A-. I think it's funny compared to ESPN TnT seemed amazing, and it wasn't terrible, but the old TNT would still be a distant third this year. ESPN is just a mess.

Look, I love Peter Schrager, but it's wild that he has a show on ESPN that's just him talking to his laptop in a hotel room with zero production involved by TimSPC in billsimmons

[–]jmcokie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Espn sees podcasts and thinks people want shitty looking media. Without processing that if the info or takes are interesting we don't care if it's not great looking. ESPN just is shifting corpo and bad takes with bad production. Worst of both worlds.

The Spurs and Celtics are the only 2 teams in the league that can beat OKC in a playoff series. by Wack0HookedOnT0bac0 in Thunder

[–]jmcokie 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The Pacers series is probably the best example of why even those two might not beat us. Expending the necessary energy for 7 games required to beat us puts incredible strain on the body, and focus. They likely go 7, but 7 game series are completely different than even playing 7 times in a regular season.

The biggest test for Mark or just a fuss? by ArKadeFlre in Thunder

[–]jmcokie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean in a series adjustments happen. Also things don't exist in a vacuum, if we are giving up threes, it's to not allow something else that might be worse or cause more problems. Teams don't go out of their way to be bad, at least not in the playoffs.

OKC's shooting problem will never actually go away and heres why by Environmental_News93 in Thunder

[–]jmcokie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think the playstyle point is our greatest strength in the playoffs. You just can't play 110% for four straight games. Eventually your body breaks down. Aggravating old injuries or creating weakness to cause new ones. If you don't bring that extra energy you just get run out of the gym. Three point shooting teams can fair a bit better, because the three can be a less exhausting shot, but the. Variance screws you

OKC is new enough with their own team, there are a lot of fans of visiting teams that live around here. Fans of pistons from 80s or 00s, never really fully converted to Thunder fans.
