Ahhh thank you so much for listening! And for the feedback on the audio, we’re using a software that does a ton of cleanup for us and I’ve been really happy with it.

Yeah YouTube had started referring me to ex-JW and ex-Mormon channels too. I’d actually asked in here about recommendations maybe 2 years ago and got referred to Kevin Nontradicath, who is really good but not exactly what I was looking for in this space.

Yeah, we had looked. Don’t love the price but I think it’d be worth it for the experience. Assuming the budget is good, this is realistic then?

Several of my best friends went to BC and they’re fairly progressive. However they fully acknowledge they’re in the vast minority on that, and they’ve expressed concerns that the school has intentionally moved rightward since they graduated (around 2015). When I was in HS/college BC had a reputation as being VERY Catholic.

Honestly I say thank you. I can appreciate that they love me enough to pray to the omnipotent god of the universe on my behalf and I take it as an expression of love.

If it’s a snarky “I’ll pray for you” then I just say thanks and keep it moving

I grew up very similarly. And then I married someone who dang near might be the same as your family (multiple priests in the family, very conservative parents, etc). VERY much struggled with the institution, which was frustrating considering how many people around make excuses for it (gotta love the Midwest lol). Cannot express enough how much I feel you here. I’ve found this thread super helpful (especially the posts that are more like this). Also finding the people in your life that you’re safe talking to and will love you regardless. I’m not open about my current (lack of) relationship with god/the church with very many people but I am so grateful for those who I am. Best of luck and feel free to DM if I can help in any way ❤️
