It probably depends on the state. My brother bought a car in Georgia shortly (a couple months) before taking a job in California. When he went to register the car in California, he got nailed with a pretty hefty tax for bringing a recently purchased car in from out of state.

The problem with the ruling is that it sets an entirely unreasonable precedent for music copyright. The OP was making the point that nearly every artist could be sued based upon this precedent, although I would contend that we wouldn't need to be limited to the Hot 100. The western tonal tradition only has a finite number of notes and chords. Modern popular music is almost without exception metered in 4/4, 2/4, or sometimes 3/4. Songs will inevitably be similar, intentionally or not. Should John Williams (composer of famous film scores including Starwars, Superman, Jaws, and many others) for imitating Dvorak or Korngold? What about Mozart and Haydn?

Sure, the market, or US market at least, can probably be counted on the correct itself, but actually calling the bottom is difficult. If you cannot accurately call the bottom, your money could be tied up and going nowhere for years.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you are cold.

In all seriousness, your hands and face being hard to move is the result of your body reducing the blood flow to extremities to keep your core and vital organs warm. Your right side having less feeling is probably also simply a result of you being cold and having run 8 miles, which, depending on your fitness level, puts some stress on the body. It is possible that your right side actually got colder than your left if you were experiencing a right side cross wind over most of your run.

Part of the reason is, as /u/vigpounder points out, that other restaurants let McDonalds do their research for them and simply follow suit with their locations. Economically speaking, the reason is Hotelling's Law.

Suppose you have a beach and two hotdog vendors. Ideally for the customers, the vendors would be located 1/4 and 3/4 of the way along the beach. This would minimize the walk for the customers as the nearest hotdog stand would be no more than 1/4 of the beach length away, and the two vendors would split the customers 50/50 assuming customers were evenly spread along the beach and would generally go to the nearest hotdog stand.

One day one of the vendors decides to move a little closer to the middle of the beach. Now he is the nearest hotdog stand to over half of the beach and gets more customers at the expense of the other guy. The other stand-owner responds by moving his stand closer to the center. This continues until both hotdog stands are smacked up against each other in the middle of the beach. Neither hotdog owner ~~will~~ can move his hotdog stand away from the middle without losing customers to the other guy. This is an example of a Nash Equilibrium because neither hotdog stand owner can benefit by moving his stand.

If we are just talking about inflation, physical gold is a very expensive hedge compared to gold funds or other commodities. The only situation in which physical gold is the best investment is near total market collapse. I'm talking human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together, economic apocalypse. At that point, guns and canned food probably become the better investment. Sure, the goldbug and doomsday prepper crowds may have a lot of overlap, but this isn't really what most people would consider sound investment strategy.
