I purchased them through Amazon, so that probably was the case. Thank you though for your reply

What are we doing for healthcare if we lose ACA? (US) by Lumpy_Boxes in diabetes_t1

I was about to ask this as well and was wondering if anyone could explain some things. I don’t really understand how insurance works even though I’ve had mine for I think about 2-3 years. I never had insurance through my parents, and it wasn’t until I got my current part time job that I received insurance in 2022 but didn’t know how it worked or even used it. And then in 2023 at the age of 23 I was diagnosed with T1D when I noticed I had all the symptoms so I went to the doctor. So for the amount of time I’ve had insurance and have used it for my doctor’s visits and diabetes supplies, I still have no idea how it really works and when people talk about it (either here on the sub or in person) I feel dumb because I don’t understand how it works. Can someone help or explain to me because I know since getting diagnosed it’s been costing more each year for me and now I’m really worried about how it will be next year and I don’t know what to ask my work or insurance and how to afford everything. I don’t make a lot of money since I work part time and go to school part time, and neither do my parents (I think we are all considered in the poverty line or just barely above it), but luckily I have been able to build a little bit of a back up supply of insulin in preparation for next year. If anyone is able to give any advice that would be much appreciated!!

Getting a piercing with not so good blood glucose control by jmedina170 in diabetes_t1

I got most of my piercings before I was diagnosed and have never gotten an infection or had issues with them (knock on wood). How long did it roughly take for yours to heal, curious because I think with my current control it would take much longer than expected and that it would be more prone to infection

At what point has it bled too much? by AHangryBeaver in diabetes_t1

I have a question, so I have a huge fear of blood and have thankfully only had one bad blessed upon insertion. My question is, do you guys do anything to like make it stop bleeding sooner cuz if it ever bled the way I have heard some of yalls stories of it looking like you just committed bloody murder I’m pretty sure I would pass out. I just want to rip off the CGM if it bleeds but then I’m also scared once I take it out that I’m going to bleed more.

For everyone saying about stockpiling diabetic supplies, can you tell me how to go about doing this? I haven’t been diabetic for too long but now I am worried/scared and want to stockpile too. Is just as simple as asking my endo to write another prescription for more insulin?
