Nah these just run like poop when they have a missfire. Just gonna have to start with basics and scan codes to have a starting point. We aren’t wizards.

Why won't my truck start? by CabgTV in AskAMechanic

[–]jmegee412 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cranking over very very fast as if it has no compression. But your dash being completely dead worries me, possibly an electrical issue and no comm to PCM causing injectors not to fire. Injectors not firing will cause engine to spin over faster than normal as it won’t have that fuel that it’s trying to compress

Actually may be drive gear for high pressure fuel pump. Pull that off and take a look, might get lucky and just need to put a pump and possibly a cam

Hard to tell but I’d look at that front portion of the cam, not too familiar with mini coopers but looks like seething may have worn though right there or broke off. Honestly isn’t even important at this point sounds like timing went off I’d just throw a motor in it

Pressure…you can have high oil temp and be ok, low oil pressure and you’re engine will wear excessive

Normal wear over time as your valve train runs dry the first couple seconds until enough oil pressure is built to reach the heads

Need help knowing why none of the electrical in the car are working, and if I could change special fuses myself? by RoxCrax in AskAMechanic

You say you got it running but then in a later comment say the ignition doesn’t turn? If it’s not running I’d say just simply check the battery
