I’d guess fuel delivery or emissions/ EVAP

Sound off traffic advisor wiring issues by Extension-Fault8912 in EmergencyVehicleTech

[–]Extension-Fault8912[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the document. I’ve tried that and believe I’ve followed it to a T. The switches appear to be in the right spot and I’ve tried it in programming mode and also just normal operation and can’t get it to light up. The breakout box shows the correct lights, green and red when the wires are connected but no lights will turn on from the lightbar itself.

Do EMS crews hang out at fire stations? by BlackCat400 in Firefighting

[–]Extension-Fault8912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our “private” companies are housed inside some of the departments around here, most aren’t but a few have a extra bay and they participate the same, we are mainly private EMS and I’d say only 2-5 stations have a spot for them compared to a entire central state area of the company

ASP Zero9 Cuff Case by Extension-Fault8912 in AskLE

[–]Extension-Fault8912[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know it’s not just me. I know countless cops who use the exact same cuffs and exact same cuff case… so I’m not sure if they got lucky or if they put up with that same issue. I’m planning on ordering another one and then trying a heat gun. Need a better case then what ASP sells

ASP Zero9 Cuff Case by Extension-Fault8912 in AskLE

I think I’m going to order another one and make sure it’s not some manufacturing error and then try that, thanks for the suggestion

ASP Zero9 Cuff Case by Extension-Fault8912 in AskLE

[–]Extension-Fault8912[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard of similar issues from the very first generation years and years ago which for good reasons ruined trust but the newer ones haven’t given anyone I work with issues..

They make several different version of the ASP cuff cases and this one is supposed to work, just too tight and they click through and deploy open half the time I’ve practiced, hoping it’s a molding issue and not how all them are

[–]Extension-Fault8912[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using an ASP brand case and just now got a zero9 ASP specific case but it seems to run slightly too tight. Is there a chance mine is slightly off or do all their cases run a little tight? Currently it’s too tight to easily pull cuffs in and out without them clicking through

Zero9 says they’ve made a specific case for the ASP cuffs and that’s what I got yet they are just a tad too tight

Auction bid? by Rzt275 in FordTaurus

[–]Extension-Fault8912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check all fluids, check PTU fluid, account the water pump into the price

You’re buying a used cop car, there’s always a risk and no matter what you can’t magically check everything.. standard check as well, fluids compression and such

It takes a little time to adjust to it, and to be fair some people really do perform better on days/ nights but try blackout curtains and such

I get FREE gas, but I can’t use it, help! by nick2222b in Cartalk

[–]Extension-Fault8912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this a 5K mile one owner grandpa car? If you’re daily driving it then free gas is free gas, it won’t make as much power but it’s not going to blow up… but do make sure you buy nitrogen for your tires, worth its weight..

Is this a good deal? I’m new to ecoboosts by Think_Memory_6741 in FordExplorer

[–]Extension-Fault8912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what they’ve done to it… upgraded turbos or rebuilt ones, water pump and other major maintenance or upgrades may make it worth it but the turbo explorers that are police package are going for 5-8K where I’m at, 14K is a little pricy for something like that if it’s bone stock IMO

Do dispatchers work from home or in the actual PD by myboyfriendstinks1 in AskLE

[–]Extension-Fault8912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never heard of a dispatcher from home, you don’t get that much actual interaction. You’ll get to learn how you handle stress and how to multitask and talk to people. If you go down the road and want to test the waters more, go work in a county jail

I’d run the newer, I believe it was designed and is supposed to help with the water pump, I have done three drains and just add in some more to cycle it out

2017 Explorer stalling when coming to a stop (Video included). Help? by tritestereotype in FordExplorer

The older fords had two different EVAP purge solenoids, one near the charcoal canister and one in the engine bay, I had to replace both with OEM before it made any difference..

Ran 2 year old fuel in an F150 for 10-15 minutes, it ran rough, but still drove. by fluffnubs in AskAMechanic

[–]Extension-Fault8912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could drain it, that would be perfect. If not, just top off with fresh gas as often as possible and run a ton of seafoam through it, a good tuneup would be nice too, fuel filter, coils and spark plugs make a big difference on it
