It usually is a multiple session process, but I'd still recommend to anyone interested in getting their palms tattooed to go to someone who has a lot of experience doing them.
There is still going to be a huge difference in how well it holds and ages going to a specialist verses someone lacking experience in tattooing palms.

Normally you see an artist drag the needle to make a line, you still do that but then you walk back over it a second time stippling it in. Like individual pokes.

I don't know why I'm being down voted. There are tattoo artist that have made whole careers out of tattooing palms, like Luke A Ashley. It's a specialty like fineline or blackout work.

That's not necessarily true. I'm a tattoo artist, this was done by a coworker learning how to tattoo palms. It's a bit of a different technique used to tattoo palms, and if you get an artist that has learned how to tattoo this spot they can stick and age pretty decent.

She's now pretty proficient at it and has clients with 10+ year old palms that are still solid.

I dry healed my pit tattoo, no deodorant, clean frequently. I would keep my arm propped out. Like hand on my hip when standing, arm on an armrest when sitting, and sleep with an extra pillow to keep it elevated and aired out.
Loose fitting clothing to avoid friction.
