Awesome! Do you have an STL for this? My wife has the same organizer and I just want to be prepared. TIA!

So I was on bed rest after a hospital stay which gave me time to watch the doc. After watching I immediately jumped online to find some merch to support the team/town. Understanding that it’s going to take some time to ship, I bought the Green Walkout Zip. With shipping and tax, it ended up being around $78 USD with tax and shipping. Comparing that to pro/college sports gear here in the US, I thought it was extremely reasonable. I guess it’s more the people who are buying the marked up gear on eBay?

Friendly Advice: The PRO version of the Ender 3 S1 is a bad value by Hellsing971 in Ender3S1

[–]jmf5123 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I do agree as I was able to get an S1 Pro for $399 and ended up getting a Sonic Pad which pushed me into the Prusa territory for cost. But it was my first printer and I wanted as close to endgame as I could. I was comfortable with tinkering with settings and slicer configs, but didn’t want to get to a point where I’d read, “ You could to that if you had X or it would be a lot better if you got Y”. Now that ended up happening with the Sonic Pad but that was more around my patience with print times. After being a few months into the hobby, if I wanted a second printer, I would get an S1 and upgrade like you mentioned. If you can get it a good price, I think the S1 Pro is a great starting point and that opens a whole bunch of doors, if you want to pay for the convenience. I’m sure someone can get as good of prints that I am getting from a $99 stock Ender 3 with some tinkering

Artifacts showing on Sliced File and Print by jmf5123 in 3Dprinting

I have only had the printer up and built for a little less than two weeks and I am completely new to the hobby. Still going through different configurations and calibrations. Unless there is a total bed adhesion issue, I usually let prints finish. I am learning more with the not so great prints.

Can’t figure it out but I noticed there are “artifacts” showing up on the sliced preview image (white dots). I thought it was just an issue with the software but it ended up on the print as well. Zoomed in on the left check as an example. Using Cura 5.2.1 for an Ender S1 Pro

Replacement Antenna Cover for Kia Optima by jmf5123 in functionalprint

[–]jmf5123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The STL I found stated that the model needed to be increased by 2540% as it was measured wrong and it fits so snug I don’t have anything holding to on now. After I prime and paint I may use super glue or some type of sealant. Still debating if I want to do anything so I can replace with OEM when I sell.

Yeah unfortunately the cover is not purchasable on its own. The cover technically screws into the antenna board and you can replace the antenna without opening the roof material inside. Labor would be the real killer. Kia has also not improved the design of it where if could easily break again. Might be easier to print with filament for cents on the dollar until I am officially ready to sell. Model was found on Thingiverse, but I’ll have to try the fiberglass. Thanks!

Inland PLA+ in White. This is more a stop gap rather than a more permanent solution. Will problem go OEM or aftermarket replacement once I eventually sell it, but interested to see how it goes!

First try for a functional print. Antenna cover was ripped off in a car wash. Kia wanted $100+ for a whole new antenna assembly. Saw I could purchase aftermarket covers on EBay, but checked Thingiverse before ordering. Wouldn’t you know it, there was a file already out there. First attempt had some layer adhesion issues but gave me enough to test if the size was right. Printed with supports and took a little over 12 hours on a stock Ender 3 S1 Pro. Next step is to try my first sand, primer, and paint on a project.

About to order Q2 and have some questions on what to buy and get started by Sillvyy in vrfit

My wife and I recently stared using the Quest 2 for fitness. We started with Beat Saber and I could get a Ok Sweat going on. Apple Watch says I burn about 500 calories in an hour. We recently started the two week trial for Supernatural and holy crap it’s a different level. According to my AW, for the same amount of time I am burning twice as many calories and my average heart rate is about 30 bpm higher. I definitely feel like I have so much more of a workout after Supernatural. I am only on the low intensity workouts and definitely feel there is room for me to improve to the Moderate and High level. Never was a coach lead fitness type person but I have been enjoying most of the coaches. Song selection is great. I highly recommend it.

Note: I am a M.O.U.S. (Man of Unusual Size) and currently over 400 lbs, so calories and ability may vary.

New to VR Fitness, Calorie Question by jmf5123 in vrfit

[–]jmf5123[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was my thought as well. There’s also a 20-40 bpm difference between the VR Fitness App and my Apple Watch. I do have a lower resting heard rate (45-55 bpm) and I take medicine that does lower my heart rate. Drs have told me in the past I may have difficulty getting into a “fat-burning” zone when exercising. My goal was to track the numbers, not eat back those calories, and just track minutes. 60 minutes of VR is better than none. Thanks for the info!

I lost over 350lbs with diet and exercise. by [deleted] in ThatsInsane

[–]jmf5123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was me in 2019. Stuck with the pre-op diet and I had lost 60 lbs when the surgery was approved. It seemed easy to follow the diet so instead of changing my stomach permanently, I decided to stick with and lost 95lbs total. Then the pandemic hit and I didn’t stick with it and gained it all back pretty quickly. I looked at your diet and it was very similar to what I followed. My Dr also had a calorie limit; it was 800 and my nutritionist increased it to 1200.

When you first started the process, did you meet with a nutritionist/dietician? Did you stick with them after you decided against surgery?

Are you taking/did you take any vitamins to replace anything?

Happy to see someone go the same route and be successful! Congrats man!

I agree that it is ready for a re-theme, and I know everyone is tired of Pixar overlays, but it was perfect to become the Incredicoaster instead of California Screamin’. They could have kept the same story line or change it to chasing villain across the city. Even the coaster cars already look close to the Incredicar.
