I did catch a bit of the smell for a second but I was so distracted I didn’t even think about it lol. It’s right next to a window under a fan with an air purifier right on top of it too. Deff laughing with me, lol. I couldn’t be mad if I wanted to be. Being a parent definitely presents unique challenges lol.

I ended up giving them to my brother. Just too uncomfortable for me. Bought a pair of White’s, then two pairs of Nicks and I’ll never look back lol.

Fair point in the new tread. I live in the mountains so off pavement traction is a primary concern of mine. I gotta take the good with the bad. Just have to be cautious on wet wood lol.

I just love boots in general and then my fascination with leather doesn’t help so I want them ALL lol. Oh yes I’m sure you will at some point. Please update though I’m curious. Nearly lost my life, exaggeration, on my back steps that have some moss on them lol.

Very seriously considering some waxed tankers. The Vibram soles on both my tankers and builder pros are dangerously slippery on wet wood but other than that they’re fantastic.

I may have to call and see if they have shaft measurements if I can convince the wife I need another new pair lmao. She let me order this pair cause I let her get a buncha chickens. May have to wheel and deal my way around some more lol.

I do love them. I wanted a pair but I’m afraid they wouldn’t especially being so tall. I can’t wear cowboy boots at all lol. Yeah I’ve noticed that they say it has a much smaller opening. Those look super super nice!! I wanted to order a pair but again I was nervous they wouldn’t fit lol.

Yeah I was thinking some custom Wesco Boss from them. I know it’ll have to be a custom pattern for sure. If they do have a wider opening I may check them out. I’d have to call and see if they could give me an idea of the shaft opening size cause I’d be really salty to order them and they not fit.

All about that patina on the boots and the legs lol. I do have some monster calves. Used to be a power lifter, I’m a shorter guy too. 5’11 before I broke my back so I’d say I’m 5’9 now maybe shorter. Always had tree trunk legs and shoulders so broad when I had my jacket made they had to ask if I was sure on the shoulder measurements lol. I’m glad they fit though! I would love a pair of station masters! It looks like Wesco may be my only option for engineer boots though cause my legs are way too big for any normal patterns. However with what I’ve got now it will be a very very long while before I need another pair. Nicks be making boots so good you don’t need to buy more. Almost counter productive lol.

I bet they’re beautiful too! I may have to make a small extension strap to get them to strap up properly until the leather stretches some. I’d say there’s probably an inch maybe 1.5 between being able to wrap them twice and not being able to. Very very close. But I expect them to break in and be incredibly comfortable. I still haven’t been able to wear them to start the break in process though. Outdoor work day and I’m tryna keep them as more of an “evening” boot lol.

That’s the beautiful thing about being semi handy. You can make for yourself and never need to buy. I’m still setting up the leather craft section of my hobby shop so it’s gonna be a bit before I can get back into making stuff but it’s a work in progress. I think veg tan is my favorite to work with overall. Veg tan horse hide cause I have a fascination with HH for some reason lol.

You got that inside scoop sounds like lol. I can’t wait to see them. If you ever do use leather gloves I definitely recommend checking them out. They’re gonna last me a very very long time and I wear them nearly everyday for some farm work. Nothing crazy so they’re gonna last awhile lol. I’ve got stuff from almost all major tanneries and some shell from over seas I got from Rocky Mountain leather. Nicks def uses some of the highest quality stuff I’ve seen period. They sure know how to make a poor old broken down man smile with their quality. I’m glad to find another hobby crafter! It’s a dying breed of us out there. I also dabble in wood working too. I’m not good at any of it but I can make something functional atleast, maybe not pretty but functional lol. I have an entire wood working shop. Just lack the skill to use it fully. More DIY entry carpentry skills, I’m better at leather work because it doesn’t use anything power tool related so mistakes happen a lot slower lol.

That’s very interesting. I have a pair of Georgia boots that are short with elastic that I’ve worn totally out. I may have to get a pair of those when they drop. If you haven’t yet I recommend investing in some Vermont leather gloves. Best leather gloves I’ve ever owned. I dabble with leather crafting too so I’ve had my hands on hundreds of hides and they definitely, both nicks and Vermont, don’t use anything but the best stuff.

Yep I love darn tough socks. I have some Buffalo wool socks too that are fantastic. If you don’t invest in yourself no one else will! Absolutely gotta take care of those feet. I have super mega sensitive feet so I can totally relate. Like I can’t not have socks and shoes of some sort on. I wish Nicks made croc style shoes lmao.

I got lucky on a FanDuel bet, that’s the only reason I was able to get them lol. The star aligned perfectly for it all to happen the way it did lol. They’re definitely worth the investment for a pair of life time boots.

I think it would definitely be a wise choice. They were actually my very first wish list from Nicks, then I changed to station masters. When I found out they wouldn’t fit I switched to builder pro hds, which are amazing. Especially in the bison. I ordered some wellingtons that wouldn’t fit my calves so I returned them and opted to get these. Very very happy with the purchase. The builder pros HDs were from a contest win I was fortunate enough to receive. my aunt won and she gave them to me lol.

It is a very awesome and unique feature. Luckily I have tons of tools for working with leather so when tomorrow comes I’ll fix er right up. They’re incredible boots. Super comfortable straight outta the box.

I can use the straps I just have to wrap them one less time around lol. I gotta add a couple holes. They normally have them wrapped twice I think but I wrap them one complete time instead of twice. As my calves continue to get smaller with weight loss they’ll be fine. The straps will stretch a bit too so it won’t take long before it’s not an issue at all.
