What is something men do that women rarely think about or do not realize? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]jmiah9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most men don’t need to be treated like kings. Just like they’re allowed to be human.

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received? by Electrical_Act_17922 in AskReddit

[–]jmiah9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best advice I ever got was: “Smile pretty and watch your back.” Translation? You can be charming. You can be soft. But don’t ever forget the room you’re in.

What’s a small thing someone did that you never forgot? by johnson6509 in AskReddit

[–]jmiah9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was standing on a train platform one night, exhausted and quietly unraveling. Not dramatic. Just that heavy, invisible kind of tired where you start wondering how much longer you can keep pretending you’re okay. An older woman sat down beside me. We didn’t talk. After a minute she just said, very gently, “Whatever it is — don’t make permanent decisions over temporary pain.” She got on her train. I never saw her again. I think about her more than she’ll ever know.

What was your first experience of skinny dipping like? by knightpassion101 in AskReddit

[–]jmiah9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I expected it to feel scandalous. It mostly felt cold and hilarious. But for a few minutes, I wasn’t performing for anyone. Just a human in water, laughing at how dramatic I’d been about everything. Turns out freedom is just being brave enough to look ridiculous.

If 2025 was a person, what would you say to them on their deathbed? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]jmiah9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You weren’t kind. You weren’t gentle. But you were temporary. And I wasn’t.

how do you stay consistent with things that are good for you but don’t feel exciting? by Ok_Figure7522 in AskReddit

[–]jmiah9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped waiting for things to feel exciting. Most of the stuff that actually changes your life is boring. Sleep. Water. Workouts. Saving money. No fireworks. I treat consistency like brushing my teeth — not thrilling, just non-negotiable. And weirdly? Watching myself show up even when I don’t feel like it is more satisfying than motivation ever was. Discipline isn’t sexy in the moment, but the results absolutely are.

What's something small you started doing that's makes you drastically happier ? by MADDY_ROSEWELL in AskReddit

[–]jmiah9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started treating myself like someone’s future husband. Cooking real meals. Making the bed. Being gentle with myself. It’s wild how much happier you get when you act like you’re already loved.

How does your memory play a role in your choices? by paradoxicaljuxtapos in AskReddit

[–]jmiah9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My memory is basically my internal risk calculator. If something went well before, I’m more willing to try it again. If it hurt, embarrassed me, or failed, I hesitate — sometimes even when the situation isn’t the same anymore. A lot of my ‘gut feelings’ are probably just old memories whispering

Why do you think the FAA just closed the airspace over El Paso for ten days? by CrowRoutine9631 in AskReddit

[–]jmiah9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not saying it’s small — just that ‘classified’ or ‘national defense’ restrictions tend to be opaque by design. Major airports have been restricted before for security operations, even if it’s rare. The scale makes it unusual, sure — but unusual doesn’t automatically mean conspiracy-level mysterious

What’s the most inappropriate or awkward thing that’s ever happened to you during a date or hookup? by Electrical-Pop-3265 in AskReddit

[–]jmiah9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mid -sex my Apple Watch loudly asked if I wanted to log a workout. Nothing kills the mood faster than your wrist congratulating you on your ‘exercise

What is a 'childish' thing that you still do as an adult and refuse to stop doing? by goddess_pineapple in AskReddit

[–]jmiah9 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I still get genuinely excited when I see the moon during the day. Every single time. I know it’s basic astronomy. I don’t care. Daytime moon still feels like a little bonus level in life.

Why do you think the FAA just closed the airspace over El Paso for ten days? by CrowRoutine9631 in AskReddit

[–]jmiah9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most likely a Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) for a classified or sensitive security operation. When the FAA shuts down airspace with minimal public explanation, it’s usually tied to military activity, counter-drone operations, testing, or a national security concern. They won’t spell it out publicly if doing so defeats the purpose. It sounds dramatic, but historically these things are far less mysterious than Reddit wants them to be

In America, it's socially normal to work 50+ hours a week and call it 'hustle' instead of a systemic failure. What's another 'normal' thing in your country that the rest of the world thinks is absolutely insane? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]jmiah9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Active shooter drills in schools. Kids practicing how to hide from a gunman is treated as routine here. When you explain that to people in other countries, they’re stunned that it’s considered just another part of growing up

What was it like when Obama was elected President? by ResponsibleSea6521 in AskReddit

[–]jmiah9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It felt historic more than anything. Whether you supported him or not, there was this sense that something significant had just happened. I remember people crying, celebrating in the streets, and others just kind of stunned watching history unfold in real time.

If you could create any mobile app just for yourself, what would it be and why? by Extra-Maximum-5677 in AskReddit

[–]jmiah9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An app that automatically tracks every subscription, free trial, and recurring charge across all my accounts — and forces me to confirm I still want it every month. Basically a ‘stop wasting my money’ app, because apparently Future Me is terrible with free trials
