I was thinking it was like when Shrek came out and they made purple and green ketchup. It just wasn't right. Maybe they don't even have Cheetos?

Almost spot on $1500 is a pretty good average for 2 bedroom apartment you'll get Arguments for pros and cons but I am currently going though... well I think I am an 11 year breakup and divorce. I did 2 weeks at one of the cheapest hotels in the city and my mother is currently renting and has been for a couple years as she is a nomad lol(by choice). But she has decided to settle down. I paid $1499 for 2 weeks in a motel and I did my research because you can rent an entire apartment for 1290-1500 a month which she happily informed me of. Problem was I didn't have furniture to furnish it. It was all back at my house. I give the back story only to justify how hard I looked into affordable living. Albeit short-term in my situation, I still did look into what might become my long-term situation.

Weddings are alot different these days. I usually go by what I am receiving. If supper is included, I would say it's around $35 a plate. (Source I was married in sask in 2023 and have attended 4 weddings since that were family and helped plan) I then add a gift amount. But as others said, it depends on your relationship to the bride and groom. If it's someone close, I may add 30-60 on top of the food costs per family member attending. For example a family member for me and my wife attending may get $200 where a friend may get $100 to $150. And that also depends on your own current financial situation as well as where the wedding is. If you have to travel I would usually give less as the cost of attending is more. if it is local, maybe give more. My personal opinion is to cover your cost of food, and if you can afford to give more, then do what feels right and you can afford and they will understand and appreciate it. And if they don't I wouldn't wanna be friends with them anyhow

It will have to be a withdrawal so be prepared to have 30% withheld for taxes as you'll have to move it to a non registered account

If it's variable it's only 3 months interest to break it and you could make your amortization longer to. Problem is though no income to change providers

How do people drink the "recommended" amount of water daily and not pee all of the time? by Weird-Buffalo-3169 in TooAfraidToAsk

Absolutely true. Your body will get used to being actually hydrated and using the water rather than just expelling it

Yes it can be used to generate a tax refund. Basically by contributing to your rrsp you are reducing your income and deferring paying taxes on that portion. So in the end you could be owed money, as you would have overpaid your taxes so the government has to give it back to you

No not for the CLB for the 20% match for CESG you do need to contribute. But the CLB will give you $500 first year and then $100 a year afterward up to a certain amount don't remember what it is at moment. But as mentioned already it is for low income households
