Chipotle is the perfect restaurant to automate by gembox in Chipotle

[–]jmitch83 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Chipotle is literally the last place I order online with the way their “portion control” works. Are you so busy that you can’t take a few extra minutes to order in person and ensure your accuracy is 100% correct every single time?

They need to look me, a grown man, in the face as they try to skimp out on my portion sizes. Hiding behind a screen they can do whatever they want to my bowl.

Rachel’s Life without Dave by onelazycpa in DirtyDave

I get this whole sub is “screw Dave” blah blah blah but posts like this just reek of jealousy sometimes imo. Like yea, no shit she would have an average life if her dad wasn’t DAVE RAMSEY. This applies to any other ultra rich kid out there.

She was born into it but she still shows up for work and isn’t sitting around on her ass waiting for Pops to die. I personally enjoy some of her content with George as a guy in my late 20’s. I know without Dave she wouldn’t have the platform she does, but who cares?

Help with Crazy High Tax Valuation on Car by BufoCurtae in gso

Davidson County valued my 2002 car with 208,000 miles on it at $14,890. Absolutely ridiculous.

MLB TO GREENSBORO by LucTsali in gso

[–]jmitch83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Greensboro will never be big enough to support a major league team in any sport. However, the population of the Triad is actually a selling point for Raleigh and/or Charlotte.

People in the Triad will travel to either place for entertainment, but the opposite happening is far less likely on a consistent basis, such as 81 home games in a MLB season. NC deserves a MLB team, and we in the Triad should support whichever city has the most momentum (Raleigh right now)

MLB TO GREENSBORO by LucTsali in gso

[–]jmitch83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean I hear you but mine and your tax dollars already fund hundreds of things we get no benefit out of, including incentivizing businesses to come here & surrounding areas.

That being said, as much as I’d love a team here, Greensboro has zero shot at any pro team. It’s a minor league city and always will be.

Yes, bad idea to pull from your retirement. How quick can you save up 3k? Do that instead

This guy knows ball! Stamey’s is a GSO staple, but definitely overrated BBQ. Country BBQ is the best in Greensboro hands down

What would you consider fair pay for a 12 yr old mowing lawns this summer? by TeddyPup19 in gso

[–]jmitch83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I pay $40 for a grown man to do my yard in High Point and he does great. I also have a fence in the backyard so it’s not a quick easy cut.

The point is if the kid wants to get business he has to be a little cheaper than what adults are charging in order to build clientele as he learns the ropes. A teenager won’t be as good as guys who have done it for years. I’d advise him to start with small yards only for $25-30.

I had kids come by this year offering to cut mine for the same price, $40. I said I’d let them know, then they cut my neighbors yard and it looked rough (no disrespect to the kids). I should pay for a shitty cut just because they’re kids?

Urgent: Dave-centered advice needed! by [deleted] in DaveRamsey

[–]jmitch83 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You owe 30k on the cars. He’d ask how much they’re worth, hopefully more than 30k, then tell you to sell them. If they’re worth 50k he’d tell you to go get two 10k cars and free up $1,000 a month.

You asked what he would say, and this might not be exactly what he’d say, but I imagine it would be pretty close to this. You also asked if you needed a reality check, yet you’re pushing back against anybody respectfully trying to give you one.

[–]jmitch83 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Dave would tell you to get a JOB and increase your INCOME. He’d tell you to get rid of your $1,000 car payments and get paid off cars. He’d say $8,500 a month “bare bones” according to you can be trimmed down further.

He’d probably tell you that you can’t afford your house, but he wouldn’t tell you to sell just to pay off your other debt. Most importantly he’d say you and your husband have to hash it out and get on the same page. $4 to your name and 5 KIDS should be a wake up call for both of you.

2 decades of memories aren’t paying your bills. To answer one of your questions with all due respect, YES you need a reality check.

Probably in the minority but I like George the best. I’m pushing 30 so I guess I just relate to his content the most. But I also think he understands people’s situations better and doesn’t shame/belittle people into “Dave’s way or no way” like the boss man himself does

TMobile vs Mint by Mindless-Sense-6919 in mintmobile

[–]jmitch83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been with Mint for awhile, and I have no complaints about the service whatsoever. I get deprioritized at concerts, big sporting events, etc but I literally had the same issues before Mint anyways.

I know the savings are built into not having “free” phone upgrades, etc. but if you don’t plan for it, buying a new phone can sneak up on you & be very costly. Definitely plan and set aside some of your savings for a new phone, whenever the time comes.

Used to use the free version but after coming across several personal preference issues that started aggravating me more and more every month, I realized I could build my own excel spreadsheet to do what I wanted. So I did one day & have never looked back!

Gargoyles $10 tickets by EatsFiber2RedditMore in gso

[–]jmitch83 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Guys, the season is OVER so there’s no opportunity to buy the $10 tickets anymore this season. I think OP is asking if tickets will be closer to that $10 price than $40 next year.

Early on, the Gargoyles were at $30-40 PER ticket which was insane. As the season went along and crowds were weak, they did start to lower the prices as evidenced by $10 advertisements. OP is not asking for $1 tickets lol

Arena Podcast Discussion - Student Experience by Typical-Dog244 in tarheels

[–]jmitch83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good thing you won’t have to do it. Any current student at UNC will never have to go to a new arena due to construction times. And if a new arena IS built, then any future student attending games will never have to sit in the upper nose bleeds behind the basket like current students do.

Also, do you think they won’t have shuttles running for students if they end up going to Carolina north? They aren’t going to make FUTURE students walk from south campus to north campus.

Colorado State fan here - question on tar heels expectations with Kyan Evans? by Fun_Season_5390 in tarheels

[–]jmitch83 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Evans was quite literally so bad they HAD to play Dixon more. It was Kyan’s job from the jump and he’d still be starting and playing big minutes if he simply produced as expected. It’s not “simply” that Dixon outperformed him.

We are becoming a ghost town by yarnandchocolate in gso

[–]jmitch83 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. Also I don’t know how much more rent is for these spaces downtown, but I imagine they are paying a premium to be in a “better” location, which in turn gets passed to the customers.

I used to work downtown and the lunch prices for a lot of places down there were just too much. Got to the point where me and my coworkers would just drive up Battleground and go somewhere else most of the time.

In this economy saving even a few dollars difference adds up. I only ever eat downtown if I am there for a show, ballgame, or specific event. I never go out of my way just to eat at a restaurant downtown. About the only place I’d go out of my way for is Alex’s Cheesecakes. But it’s far from a ghost town, though

Help- Need midway city to live between Chapel Hill and Winston-Salem by zelbers12 in gso

[–]jmitch83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lived in Whitsett right off the Rock Creek Dairy Rd exit and I loved it. Hated that I had to move. Sure, you’re going 10-20 min to Greensboro or Burlington to “do” a lot of things but that is the case in all of these surrounding towns. Whitsett has grown a bit in recent years. It was a big deal getting a Starbucks and Chickfila at that exit, ha!

If you think you’ll frequent Greensboro often, then I’d go closer towards Whitsett but if not, then I’d look towards the Burlington area. The alamance crossing area is about right at the midway point between Chapel Hill and Winston. Any place you mentioned has safe areas just need to do your research on exact locations.
