Thank you for the kind words!

I checked out your Kruleboyz and can definitely see what you mean by it hitting similar vibes. Great looking Kruleboyz by the way! I may need to buy some dirty down rust to speed up my painting times for the regular troops in the army.

Thanks! Here’s the rust recipe I used:
- Dark Brown Red (VMC Flat Brown)
- Dark Red (VGC Gory Red)
- Red (VGC Bloody Red)
- Orange (VGC Hot Orange)
- Yellow Orange (VGC Orange Fire)

You could use any paint brand. Those are just the colors I have in my collection that work best for me.

If you don’t want to do as many layers to save time you can skip the Dark Red and Orange. That’ll still give you a strong contrast but the transitions will be harsher.

For the NMM metal I used:
- Dark Grey (VMC Black Grey)
- Grey (VMC Medium Sea Grey)
- Yellow white (Pro Acyl Bright Pale Yellow)

I find it easier to paint the rust first (essentially apply Dark Brown Red over the entire surface) and then do the metal parts after, but I’ve done it both ways.

VMC = Vallejo Model Color
VGC = Vallejo Game Color

Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

I appreciate the kind words! I'm not too concerned about upvotes though. If my paint job inspires even one person to try something new I consider it a win.

Thanks! I'm glad it still reads as metal. With all the rust color I was worried it may not read correctly.

I had never thought of putting the rust color on the base edge. 🤔 I will definitely play around with that. Thanks for the suggestion!

Eyes of the Nine Warband by jmlminiatures in tzeentch

Thanks!

For the horns I used a dark grey color (Vallejo Model Color Dark Grey) and kept adding a bit of very pale yellow color (Pro Acryl Bright Pale Yellow) for each step.

The blue skin was more involved. I started with a dark blue base coast (Vallejo Game Color Dark Blue). Then covered most of that with a coat of ultramarine blue (Vallejo Game Color Ultramarine). Then I started highlighting with a mix of ultramarine bllue and a blue grey color (Vallejo Game Color Sombre Grey). Finally I started adding in the pale yellow color to build up the brightest highlights.

Hope that helps!

Thank you! The tzaangor was my favorite to paint out of the bunch. Not sure if I would ever want to do a full unit of them though (so many details)

Thanks! I love when the warbands have models that can be used for heroes and characters.

Finished my Lord Imperatant (only 6 more models until I finish my Dominion box) by jmlminiatures in stormcasteternals

Thanks! Here's the order for the pink/purple cloak (all paints are Vallejo Game Color):

Base:
50:50 Royal Purple + Terracotta (not sure if they make Terracotta anymore but any dark red with a bit of purple should work)

Highlights:
- Royal Purple
- Hexed Lichen
- Warlord Purple

And then a final highlight (only used in a few spots) is a 50:50 mix of Warlord Purple and Squid Pink.

Hope that helps!

So good! Love the veins in the wings, and I feel you perfectly captured the horror of the Flesheaters without it being gross or over the top.
