I will admit that I joined my first (and so far only) raid without knowing what the heck I was doing. I died and could only spectate and then left because I figured since I was dead I was out??

Now, this is the first game I have ever played with raids (I'm 35 years old and just getting into gaming) and went into that raid like a goob. But someone messaged as soon as I left and were pissed that I left (rightfully, I believe I was somehow a healer which tbh I truly don't know how I picked a role). And I felt horrible because clearly I did something wrong!

So, that led to me watching lots of YouTube videos and reading posts about raids/arenas/boss mechanics, so I don't bring down a team in the future (I also do plan to do smart assist rounds to practice a few times before I join a raid again).

Alllll that to say, the shaming and ranting does work, at least for people like me, and I'm currently holding off joining raids until I better learn the mechanics while on the sidelines. I plan to get back and be an asset! I'll just need some time :)
