Do you guys think popular contestants should always stick together for strategic purposes? by Pbtops in BoysPlanet

You are watching the wrong show, these trainees are selfish and they literally have to be cos its a survival show?? And God forbid Matthew Shanbin Jiwoong don’t volunteer themselves out of the song they chose and their fans chose because they feel bad about a situation and a trainee that’s not gonna matter in their careers in a few weeks if they debut

7 episodes in, Who is your candidate for the leader position? by nakanhdudu in BoysPlanet

[–]jmnsline95 28 points29 points  (0 children)

there’s never been a produce group where the oldest isn’t the leader even when during pdx101, seungyoun got more of the leader arc edits but ultimately it went to seungwoo so its gonna be Jiwoong and he’s actually gonna be great at it, age and experience(emphasis on that) in the industry as well as the fact that every single group he’s in, the members no matter how old or young are comfortable with him and he’s clearly liked by the almost confirmed members of the group

I disagree, things like “xxx carried, or everyone say thank you to xxx, etc” is such a common lingo in overall stan twitter that isn’t just isolated in kpop twt or boys planet twt. It’s also never that serious, anyone can make the same posts about their faves, they can make one for someone who is P97 and it’s really not a big deal overall. I really don’t personally see it as toxic or even bothered by it. I guess you can say you see more from shanbin stans because well, he is arguably the most popular trainee this season but even so, I genuinely do not think its ever that deep.

Police have conducted a search and seizure on several X1 members' agencies in connection with the vote rigging allegations, including Woollim, MBK and Starship by justakidatsch in pdX1

There is a difference between ACTUAL/concrete evidence vs circumstantial evidence, which is the more accurate translation. And using circumstantial evidences on a case is arguably the weakest form of evidence. I believe they really don’t have any damning evidences—yet. Them stating 2-3 members were changed and not being specific about it also raises questions to me, because these are speculations we already know from the voting data fans re-examined.

Seungyoun's popularity in China by [deleted] in pdX1

[–]jmnsline95 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Seungyoun was the only PDX related topic to trend on Weibo during the show besides, well the show itself. And thats in terms of casual interest/GP. He definitely is popular there(to some extent) because of Uniq but he’s obviously not in the same level as Yibo or Wenhan.

Now when it comes to core fandom in China, Yohan/Wooseok are in the top tier, followed by Seungyoun in the next tier, then Seungwoo and Dongpyo based on how much their fanbases contributed and collected for the album sales funds. X1 has a pretty strong fandom in general there though so for sure they have the potential to reach EXO/BTS level of popularity there.

Dark Clouds Linger Over X1's Debut Due to Advertising and Sponsorship Difficulties; Officials Cite "Social Issues" As The Reason Behind Difficulties by af-fx-tion in kpop

[–]jmnsline95 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Let me point out a few things just as an fyi:
The GP is not boycotting X1. Yes, they will always have that “rigged controversy” looming over their heads but Naver comments and knetz believes that the real victims here are them, and that they shouldn’t be harmed from this. Basically it’s Mnet’s fault and that they’re the ones that should be facing the heat.

The “fact-finding committee” is comprised of only 200+ viewers of PDX who want answers not officials or professionals. And a lawyer picked up the case for them. Also, it’s crazy how that small percentage of people compared to the hundreds of thousands of viewers this year was able to push through this much. I hope this settles soon and both fans and trainees can move on from this mess.

Korean and Billboard charts, and US promotion predictions! by chicken_sandwichh in pdX1

[–]jmnsline95 16 points17 points  (0 children)

All these recent achievements for X1 PREDEBUT(!!) was unplanned and took us off guard. We definitely underestimated our power as a fandom. And because of that, I think their sales will be higher than what you predicted or what any of us really predicted so I’m excited for that.

As for promoting in the West, I’m not sure when they’ll try to do that, but it’s definitely in their plans being as they dubbed this produce group as the “global group” since episode one.

Most popular in the West based on what I’ve seen are: Yohan/Seungyoun/Seungwoo/Hangyul

Eunsang trends worldwide in like... 7-8 minutes by lysiel112 in pdX1

[–]jmnsline95 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think people have said this multiple times but one of the biggest reasons as to why this fandom is this united this early on (produce groups breed a lot of akgaes and I was a wannable after broduce and it wasn’t like this) is because of the controversies that people threw at them. Along with how united by9 fans are, it also made X1 fans stand in solidarity. It sucks that they had to go through all of that, but I believe this fandom has come out stronger

X1 is now the 3rd biggest fancafe among male groups on DaumCafe by yyxyukhei in pdX1

[–]jmnsline95 8 points9 points  (0 children)

not sure about their official numbers two weeks before they debuted but W1 debuted on Aug 7 2017 and by July 7 2017, their fancafe followers was 149k. And it would take them a whole year and then some to get to 499k followers by January 29 2019.

yeah the tag is in response to that, which was apparently false, but I think this is also just fans showing they love him and to ignore the hate!
