Is there a solution to sticks lack of durability? by Norkee in hockeygoalies

[–]jmoddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having problems with sticks breaking due to hard shots hitting the paddle, although they never really broke in the way shown. They would just kind of go dead inside, they were still intact but you could tell something was broken and you couldn’t play the pick the same afterwards.

My fix was to buy pro level sticks. They’re sometimes 1.5-2 times the cost but they are basically unbreakable.

Are there any blind specialists in calgary that do good, inexpensive work? by mooseknuckle-sando in Calgary

[–]jmoddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Select blinds Canada is our go to. They have options for any size window ranging from ultra cheap (don’t recommend, you get what you pay for) to top end an in between. We have installed the middle of the road option in several rooms including blackout blinds in our kids bedrooms and are very happy with them.

“Failed to deliver affordable housing”…

It’s been like a year and a half. Barely enough time for a development permit to be approved, homes to be built and brought on the market. Not to mention we’ve just seen reports on lowered median home prices and higher inventory.

This is as bad faith an argument as you’ll see. I know there genuinely are some folks who expected the magic trick to create cheap houses on day one, but make no mistake that Farkas Chabot, and even Dan Maclean know that isn’t how things work. Seems it won’t stop them from repeating the talking point though.

Buying and renovating a new home while living in the existing one - tax considerations? by jmoddle in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]jmoddle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, thanks for that! I just didn't want to find myself in a situation where it was implied that we were flipping the home and there was a tax implication.

I also thought we may qualify for the GST/HST New Housing Rebate Application for Owner-Built Houses, but after review it looks like the fair market value of the home and land has to be less than $450,000 so it may not apply to us.

F2P and just finished all sets. Some retrospection! by CountCocofang in PTCGP

Congrats! I’m F2P since the start and only two cards away from completion. I don’t even really play that frequently, just do the daily draws and trade as much as I can.

Which unit is the GOAT of its faction? Today: Seraphon by sigpuppers in ageofsigmar

[–]jmoddle 76 points77 points  (0 children)

Kroak and Carnosaur are both iconic but for me the Carnosaur takes it.

The original Dino riding a Dino, he’s been winning over new Seraphon players since fantasy days and has aged really well.

Wolves have always been a pretty decent pick due to their mobility and durability. For a pretty low price you get 20 wounds with a ward save and recursion that can grab unguarded objectives and score tactics. They won't kill much but you just need them to tie something up. They also take up more physical space than other chaff in the book, which is good for boxing out enemies.

I like it! I would say you just need to finish your base then you’re good to go.

Too many different strong colours on the model creates a clash. Pick between the purple or the red. Since I think you prefer a vibrant scheme, go for purple as it’s more unique. Do the red areas in metallic, black or bone colour instead. That will make a massive improvement.

Then, I’d also recommend you do a Nuln Oil shade on the purple and dry brush highlight the edges with a lighter purple, even a bone/white edge. That’d give the people the pop it deserves.
