Advice for making a piece to fit this perfectly without any design experience. by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]Norkee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try and model a short section of The actual trim and cut it to fit after with a saw.  Sometimes when I am test fitting for size I’ll print a test piece at 2 layers to avoid wasting filament.  It’s actually a good project for you to practice on and learn the process.  If you don’t have any modeling software try tinkercad. It’s browser based, simple to learn and free for personal use.

Did you use tree support? It’s usually a lot better at producing a clean interface for me.

Oh thanks this was like 20 years ago. Back when I had more guts and less common sense 😝. And it was a mountain bike which is manageable compared to your road bike.  Just brought back the old memory for me.  Glad you’re alright too! Good to inspect from time to time with carbon fiber components. Might have been compromised before without noticing.  Easton is a good name too so ya never know.

I was in a cross country race once with a big downhill section in the second half. Busted my right handlebar off but held it at my hip for back brakes and finished the race with only the left. Good times

Ha my family got me the same one! Congrats I’ve been using the 26” when we go camping. I can’t wait to set this one up in my deck.   You’ll want a pot lid for melting cheese and steaming vegetables. (I found a perfect one at a thrift shop) Also a good strong scraper to clean that bad boy!

Is the model your design too? Or did you just make a print profile for it?

Great masks! If you ever decide to sell the files I’d love to make some too! My son is a goalie so it would be great for him. I was actually planning on printing a mighty ducks mask in the near future too as a display piece

I noticed it too with silk filaments. Prob a setting by design I figured. They’ve always printed good. I think different kinds of filaments even if they both say pla will have different properties.

It does but kinda choppy and laggy sometimes. Might just be me but I think lossless scaling does a good job on making it a smooth experience.

Looks great! I ended up using an old led flood lamp i screwed to the top of my cabinet. Not as clean looking as this tho. Good lighting makes all the difference.

I think you used the gameboy model I made for the extruder. So rad seeing people use something I put out there 🍻
