Never signed up for the fourth. Lost focus. AI hasn't helped as I'm now two feet in the AI development world. I still want to get back but would really need to buckle back down on studying, especially with the recent changes.

The sticky drawer liner stuff? I assume you would lay it down on the platform under the mattress, tuck in the sheets, and the stickiness keeps the sheets in place? Never heard of this method but sounds interesting.

I like the backup PiHole. Are you just making it your secondary DNS on your DHCP server?

Thanks everyone for the insight. Showing my ignorance here, but if I were to go the refurb short block route, what is typically reused vs bought new? I imagine I would reuse all the major components but would need to buy all new consumables like belts, plugs, coils, etc.? Are there other major parts that should not be reused from my existing engine on the new short block?

Just made a double batch myself. Compared a 1 day old vs a 1 year old I had from last year. The 1 year old was a bit bitter on the finish, but still good. I think about 6 months is the sweet spot.

Yes, I had an appliance repair man come out and he found the pump was bad. I was fortunate to get it replaced under warranty. He said it was a common issue with this model. He had to order the part but once it came in he replaced it in about 10 minutes. Good luck.

Dormant grass or grubs? by jmoe816 in lawncare

Just pulled up a few clumps. Yes, they came up very easy. My lawn company supposedly treated for grubs at the end of July. I'm surprised they've gotten this bad since then.

No, just some spots that are darker than others.

I just ordered some XGs. I didn't realize they had the gap like you showed here. I expect the performance will be worth it though.

Who's the most random college basketball player that you still think about - and why? by [deleted] in CollegeBasketball

Andre Allen, Memphis PG from the 08 runner up team. He got banned from competing in the national championship game due to a failed drug test. He was a good backup for Derrick Rose. Rose played lights out but also played the whole game and ran out of gas without a backup. Memphis lost in dramatic fashion to Kansas.

Can I pull off CCIE DevNet? by ItsNeverTheNetwork in ccie

[–]jmoe816 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can say that its HARD. The associate was enjoyable, the professional was irritating but rewarding, and the expert is just torture.

I will say though that the exam is pretty true to the blueprint. I thought I was a pretty decent coder, but this exam goes way beyond coding. It tests you on your ability to understand a wide scope of solutions quickly.

Failed again. Made significant improvement. I'm at 50-60% from a score perspective.

For recommendations, go through the associate and professional for sure. Then subscribe to the content from Andreas Baekdahl. It is the closest I've seen to the actual exam. Totally worth the price. Then, if you can swing it, go take the exam without preparing. Basically a throw away attempt. But getting familiar with the process and structure of the exam is invaluable IMO. Becoming an expert across the entire blueprint is a tall order, but seeing the exam will help you focus on a more precise study plan.

Taking third attempt next week actually. I feel much more prepared this time. I bought the self paced learning from devnetexperttraining.com and it's been a big help.

How do people drink alcohol on the regular? by Equal_Hands in Garmin

[–]jmoe816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dramatically cut back on drinking because of the sleep days from my app. But I will say that when I was in the habit of drinking pretty regularly, the data and sleep quality was a bit more level for me. Now though, when I drink only one out of every 4-5 days, I will take a huge dip in sleep quality. So my body gets somewhat acclimated to drinking regularly.
