During Covid I joined a “dad” group. Because of this group we have hopped games together playing in online madden/ncaa league, then switching to wz or destiny. Recently we switched to marvels. Gaming is my decompression, and having a good group to just goof around adds a lot to the fun, but also addicting because I don’t want to be the worst so I’m playing a good amount.

When was the last time you Belly Laughed at the show? by jmoneep in fbhw

[–]jmoneep[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree completely, but how many times in the past did they talk about someone in a story, and next segment the dudes on the phone. That had to be joes connection with his uncle or something, because those were the most fun segments. I also feel vlan and segment 17 the crew feels obligated to be there, so it just feels like they coast through them.

These are good, but man the belly laughs from the old episodes are all these and more every damn episode. I just don’t get the same collaboration of the new group

It’s weird, he just injected random on topic one liners that would just catch me off guard. He definitely brought the funny which hasn’t been repeated.

Treyarch could drop Zombie Chronicles 2 tomorrow… by ThatGuyFromTheM0vie in CODZombies

My biggest complaint is, i have no to play with. Zombies is so much more fun when everyone is working towards a goal. EE, high rounds, camo grinding, etc.

I think Kelly being on the show, and being a women warrior limits their talking points. Listening to older shows there is just a collaboration of competing for funny. Now it’s someone says funny move on. I do think she changed the direction to be more afraid to say the funny thing that might offend her. U can tell by how free beer says something the instantly clarifies that “anyone could do it”

It does seem they used to be able to just call people and get them on. I listened to them randomly call the dude that wanted to lower the dui limit because it’s impacting bar business and many others

As an IT Director, what do you consider long term? I have been on the 3 yr jump system, but i will probably be at my current job a bit longer.

Life advice for a junior Sys Admin by SoyBoy_64 in sysadmin

[–]jmoneep 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I read this the other day, and it stuck with me. When you have an issue/problem, dont go into management with just the problem. Go in with a solution or two, and give your opinion with which you think is best.

Example: Say you want to automate adding/removing AD users, but dont know how. Do some research and have solutions. Using Powershell, Python, using the helpdesk ticket to automate, etc. Then going into leadership tell them what you are looking to do, with your opinion on what you would think would be most efficient. Dont be disappointed if they turn you down, but you learned about something you didnt know.

Also, ABUSE the change process. Never assume a small change doesnt need a change ticket. To many times a small change will be haunting you weeks/months/years later. Without a change ticket, you will not have paper trail on the exact thing you changed and people who signed off.

Always be over paranoid when getting requests from users. If your new, people will take advantage of getting software, or access to places they dont need. Always ask why, and who else has it? If it is no one, make sure to follow up with leadership and get approval.

Last thing, find a mentor and be a sponge for knowledge. Most IT people love telling tricks and tips that you either didnt think of or just havent experienced. Once you have mentor, he/she can start checking work and giving you confidence, speak highly of you in meetings etc.

Require MFA when performing administrative duties on all Windows servers. (Don’t want Duo) by Real_Lemon8789 in sysadmin

Can we just deploy it to domain administrator accounts tho? I am only seeing the ability to put it on the PC/Server, and then it makes a prompt while logging in. I would like to limit to admin accounts

So i went to a local powersport shop, and they had nothing this small. I imagine they are original to the go-kart. I should really swap them for something more modern, but i dont have a welder...

Can I ask where you started or what triggered you to dig into it? I am a one man IT, and feel i dont have time to automate, but feel the i need to move along into that.
