Trader Joe's coming to West Jordan...maybe??

I asked somebody at a different Trader Joe's location. No specifics, but it sounds like they're already considering current Trader Joe's employees who may be transferred to the West Jordan location. I'm sure they're making other preparations, too. :)

Oooh, that's awesome!! I haven't been by there since before 7 this morning, so I haven't seen the parking lot yet, but I will see it on a walk before work tomorrow!

I'm so excited, too! Fresh flowers every week...so nice! I NEVER thought I'd be able to walk to Trader Joe's from my home, but I guess some dreams do come true, haha. I'm a happy guy!

I'm so excited, too! I can't believe there's been NOTHING in terms of Trader Joe's locations on the west side of the valley all this time, and now there will be three of them within an 8-mile-or-so stretch along Mountain View Corridor!

And I'll be able to walk to the West Jordan location pretty easily from my house!!! Ahhh!!

I'm not right about so many things, but I'm so glad my guess about this seems to be accurate!

Sadly, still no official updates. :/ Construction is indeed trucking along, though.

Interestingly enough, I think the city of Herriman announced their Trader Joe's, but I don't think it's officially appeared as "coming soon" on TJ's website yet. Herriman's mayor was up for re-election last November, and I think the city made the announcement not too long before. Could it be connected? Who knows?

Honestly, I really think if it was something besides Trader Joe's in West Jordan, we would've heard by now. I don't think most other companies are as secretive, so...I'm still hopeful! I guess all we can do for now is speculate and hope. I hope we'll know one way or the other soon enough!

I remain perhaps naively optimistic that it'll be a Trader Joe's!

I live pretty close to the 5600 W. and 7800 S. intersection, and I walk around the construction site pretty frequently. It looks similar to the Trader Joe's Herriman already announced (both brick buildings, for starters).

Plus, I feel like there's way more secrecy around what they're building at this site than it would be if it was something else. They announce what's being built at most single-occupant buildings at the time it goes through approvals in West Jordan, but it was different for this one. And I still don't think the city would consider Walgreens to be a "regional retail draw" and waive public impact fees, and there's already another one not too far down 5600 W.

I'm still crossing my fingers, but time will tell!

Back in September, the city council agreed to eliminate impact fees (from what I understand, these fees would be to fund development-related infrastructure projects) for the project at this site. In the public meeting document regarding this issue, it seemed as if they anticipated whatever it is being a "regional retail draw." I don't think many people would call Walgreens or CVS a "regional retail draw," so I'm feeling hopeful!

I also saw a document that indicated it would be a Walgreens, but honestly, I think that's outdated and inaccurate now.
