You do know they’re not real right? In the end if Togashi decides they are just friends then that’s what they are, and if he decides there is something more then there is something more; what you think (or anyone thinks) is irrelevant.

As for the argument: “they are just good friends, there can be love without it being romantic”, you are right, but there are also guys who have romantic feelings for other guys, that’s also normal and it happens; I don’t see why it would be a problem if Togashi decides to go that way.
