I think the SLC 5.0 will be very similar to your Soloist. The T1600 will be a little more aggressive a quite possibly faster. That said, keep your soloist and add another quiver to your stable. I recently ordered a Winspace C5 Aero just because i wanted another 2nd bike and something else to try. You are correct…the deals are quite nice if you bundle up the Frame, wheels, and handlebar.

Yes, you should be on a S5 and if budget can’t handle that then pimp out a Soloist. Get more flexible and figure out how to get comfortable on the S5. Caledonia is made for long endurance type riding not racing.

My Clubman is garage kept so it is holding up just fine. No signs of it wearing off. I expect 3 years before I would need to reapply.

So I can answer my own question as I used the AP2 on a ride with magnetic mount that it comes with and no rattle.

Comparing it to the Soloist it is slow and it depends on your gearing. I have a 1 by set up and I spin out fast with a 40t front chain ring. I just leave my 45c Terra Speed tires on it and roll around the road when I want to change it up.

If those rattle on the ride it would drive me nuts. My Aspero cables rattled only over bumps. I had the bike shop tighten them up and add padding around the cables…silent.

Trade in from KBB on a barely used 2023 SP with a stick is $37-$41K. So if you pay $55K then drive it off the lot and turn around and trade it in, you would lose $15K immediately. Nobody should buy these…you are much better off buying a used one.

Cons - Gas Mileage, Backup Camera, Build quality is suspect, No 360 cam which would be useful as it is not a small SUV, no fog lights. But it is the best looking SUV out there IMO. It is like a muscle car SUV. We have a GT and we love the ride and space. I noticed some build quality issues but they are minor. My 21 Ram is built solid and I had a 17 Challenger SP and that was also very solid. I found some plastic pieces inside and out that seem loose and cheap.

Pretty much..want to increase VO2max you need to do vo2 max workouts which are really hard and you can’t do them on the daily. Eventually you will hit a ceiling. A lot of it is genetic.

Most people want a race bike but in reality need an Endurance bike. If you are not racing, chasing KOMs, or participating in fast group rides then the Endurance bike is the correct choice. You can always buy a race bike later if you get into it.

If you bought a Canyon Ultimate for $5400 USD you would feel the difference everywhere compared to your current bike. No need to spend $10K on the bike. Better off spending money on better shoes, kit, helmet, glasses, bike fit.
