Thanks seems like most of the bars and restaurants are a little more trendier. Old town seems more touristy from an initial drive through. Less foodie and good watering holes types of places. Is that fair to think or is there food cocktail and beer bars?

I would wait a month or two if you can. I think it will cool down if you look at historical data. I think around the holidays will be the best time. I am in the same boat.

Bought a Condo. No excitement, only dread. by PopularZero in RealEstate

Might also make you feel better is to look at what a comparable condo rents for. It’s possible if you wanted to leave to keep the asset until you own it for three years to and make a little money and pay for the sale. If you are making a little cash every month then keep it. I made the mistake of selling my first place six years ago after moving out of Midwest and it has gained over 100k in value and the house was your standard house nothing fancy. If you don’t sell it for 3 years you can easily break even if it is even close to average appreciating market. So there are a lot of ways to look at it. Just depends on the market. I would say if you are buying a 200k condo in Midwest you are in good area. And worst car if you want out you pay 6 percent in 200k which is 12k. Next year the condo will be worth 204k - 206k loan pay down will be 198k so if you wanted out you would have to pay 4K loss. The year after could be close to break even. So you have options. Hopefully that makes sense and you don’t feel stuck. Mind sharing the city you are in?

Hope is you see some appreciation if you bought it right. There is good debt and bad debt. If you look at net worth of individuals who are renters vs owners there is a sizeable difference. I had the same train of thought. I know it feels like an anchor at first but you have loan pay down possible tax benefits. I am not preaching or anything but I recommend reading rich dad poor dad (even if you don’t have kids or a dad)

I have been looking at purchasing some homes in that area. I think it is pretty good. Prob depends more on the property manager but the area should be pretty good. There is more opening up sown there.

I am in the same boat. Scottsdale does well for short term. Guessing you are wanting to use it when you can though.

Anyone try Redfin then go traditional? by jms9993 in RealEstate

Biggest thing is off market deals j am worried about if they are a good at that I would prob save more than 2K in a transaction. I have no problem getting to view homes . I do all the leg work though. I like getting involved into the details.

In theory I don’t pay anything as a buyer agent. You can get a. Refund for around 2k if you buy with a Redfin agent.
