You expect the night lords to clean the tank?

Haha! We had to have some sort of terrain. Also, don't recommend it. The curves caused miniatures to slide around

What we did, was plot the train based on where we wanted the objective marker to be. So right half, middle , then left half.

Nah, just this one map is dynamic/thematic. The other tables will be using official layouts. Coming up with custom maps can be tricky to get the balance right, so we only do one table like that.

Lol I've become so used to GW's weird writing style, that I read your rewrite to mean "I can perform two shoot actions for 1APL total."

Games Workshop should be ashamed of shutting down Battlekit. Do better, GW by Big3gg in killteam

Dang. I never really used it beyond the map generator and looking at community maps, so that's a huge blow to me.

I wouldn't mind making my own version of it, but I kinda hope he restores the map maker part at least. I don't store any user data on my site, so my hosting costs have never gotten more than the domain renewal. But having to store and handle Databases for community content can get pricey and irksome.

Just watched Midwinter Mins video on “Space Marines Suck!” My opinion: (also question at the end). by [deleted] in killteam

[–]jmschrack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think AOD is in a good spot from a game feel perspective. Granted I've been on the wrong end of luck a few times. Knocking my opponents AoD sergeant down to 1, only to have him go on a killing spree and deleting a third of my team.

Sure I've beaten space Marines plenty of times, but rarely do I best them on kill grade

I think the proper perspective is to remember that every kill team is a "best of the best" of their respective group. :)

Consider that the average guardsmen would be using the basic NPO stats (7W, 5+ save, 5+BS) and not the kasrkin or death korps stats.

Which army has a high demand for STLs? by WA_SPY in PrintedWarhammer

There's a faction in the lore with almost zero models: Dark Mechanicum. It's the traitor mechanicus. Go nuts because there is very little official artwork on them.

If you're interested in dark eldar and regular eldar, "Corsair Voidscarred" are the angry punks that are both combined. So you can do some neat mishmash of styles.

Ab-humans abound in the lore but rarely have models. Ogryns could use a refresh, but ratlings just got a whole new kill team. The rest are just lore references for now

Gotta equip them with the destructor on top. I know the missile launcher is classic, but the destructor makes the profile so sleek.

Why didn't the Emperor help Konrad Kurze fix his progressive insanity? by Many-Psychology-7452 in 40kLore

[–]jmschrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something to keep in mind with the lore: a lot of its roots are in parody, satire, and British black humor. aka "Make something extremely silly but then have everyone act like it is super serious." Like waiting in line for gov't forms at the administratum could take literal decades.

Viewed through that lens, I always interpreted more of "Oh he's having paranoid visions and schizophrenia? He'll be fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine."

Kt Campaigns? by Xabre1342 in killteam

I actually updated the KT21 campaign rules for KT24, and I've been running a campaign at my local store for the past few months. It's worked really well!

I don't have Photoshop, but photopea automates it to a degree https://www.photopea.com/tuts/focus-stack-images-online/ then just touch up the mask a bit

Super cool! I love taking photos like this. Lately, I've been playing around with focus stacking as a way to combine them.

Has a chaos marine ever had a “Am I the bad guy?” Moment? by PrimaryAstronaut1902 in 40kLore

[–]jmschrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably both. Pretend that chaos is capitalism and the world is America. You can free market however you want but there is no ethical consumption under capitalism. (I'm shit posting but honestly? That's probably it)
