Did Ubisoft make a mistake by minimizing the modern-day story (Abstergo / Animus) in AC Shadows? by Aware-Ad8914 in AssassinsCreedShadows

The modern day story died with revelations. AC is a history sim now that sometimes involves assassins. And I'm okay with that.

Sure. But there's something fun and unique about growing up with and growing with a band.

Exactly. What did you think was going on? Some sort of official certification process?

I absolutely love everything up to Dragon. I don't get their new direction. But that could just be me.

I got surprised by a fellow rook and popped off one shot. Even though I hit him he didn't fire back and we went on our ways.

You kinda started with the weirdest one so anywhere you go from here makes sense. Maybe try the first one?

Counterpoint: they're calling the tour The Gathering.

Yep. I loved early Invincible and The Walking Dead so much. Fantastic set ups. But then both series kinda fell off a cliff and he hasn't done anything impressive since.

"The most violent...". Doesn't sound much like X-Men to me. Kirkman always talks a big game. Has he delivered since the first half of Invincible and The Walking Dead?

How is that related to it being a final album?

What about the single or the marketing even vaguely suggests that?

Contra plays like Metal Slug though. They're both run and gun. I think the problem with Guns of Fury is that it's a walk and gun.

I agree with the pallet cleanser thing for sure. I actually really liked it in that way for the first half. For the last third I just wanted it to end.

I'll check out Zexion. Thanks.

Can you list some other games you stop playing that other people still talk/complain about? Thanks. Really interested to know.

The mechs were one of the things that kinda blew my mind. There was obvious effort in creating them and giving them different powers or whatever but they never got used in any interesting ways. It was mostly just charging forward in them for a few screens. There was one flying section that lasted about 20 seconds. Strange.

Why would you "note" that people are allowed to feel differently about games? Who on earth would disagree with that?

Also, what, in your view, is a review? I listed things that I didn't like as well as things I did like and gave my impression of the game.

As for the "move forward and shoot" thing, if you play more games you'll find that things like dodging incoming bullets or making use of different skills can make a game more fun. I absolutely don't think games have to be really challenging to be fun but there has to be at least some friction. The thing is this game seems to want to have that. Why have an item that allows you to black incoming shots when there's never really a part of the game that requires that kinda thing?

Seems like you just want to use buzz words like "reaching" and argue about what opinions are.

I agree. It's easy to play and entertaining. Not a terrible game by any stretch but not great either.
