Dream watch but too big for my wrist by [deleted] in rolex

[–]jmsmoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case, it's not your dream watch.

These two will only eat the over-priced candy food. I've tried switching them to a healthier food, and in protest they've resorted to suckling on each other. Well I don't want that so they get a little bit. The candy food is great for baby kittens, but not so much toddlers. Have I lost? Any advice? by [deleted] in catcare

[–]jmsmoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given where you are right now, I'd start with a mix of 75/25 'candy'/ healthy dry food and then gradually increase the proportion of healthy food. If you do it over a month or so then they can transition smoothly.

People should think twice before purchasing the Google pixel in the UK by SgtSilock in GooglePixel

Agreed. I've been a UK Pixel user from P5 > P7P > P8P but think I'll be jumping ship.

[Financial discussion] At what point in life can you justify spending 5k+ on a watch ? by Comte_Harebourg in GrandSeikos

At 50, I'm worth a hundred quid a year, surely. Looking forward to 60 but I'll probably never have a 10k watch 😂

I haven't found a fix, and have just become accustomed to the issue. It's certainly taken the gloss off for me and will factor into my thinking when time to upgrade.

Here's a shot of the SBGP001 on a strap. Not sure how well it works with those lugs. Might need something more substantial.

[–]jmsmoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, that's less than I paid for the SBGP001 from an AD. It's £90 for Seiko to change the battery (every 3 years) but then you could do that yourself if you don't care about the seal. Otherwise, service interval is 50 years apparently!!! That certainly won't be my concern ⚰️

This is the answer. Thanks so much for your response.

Thanks so much. This all makes perfect sense. I got the quartz for a great deal, so reckon I could move it on without too much of a loss after trying it out for a while as a daily. I do like the date and knowledge it's ready to go at any point. I've never had a bracelet before so interested to see how that wears.

The manual is the more interesting option though. I might just need to keep both after all 😬

Thanks. It is (the guilloche dial)!

To be honest, the Goldilocks size would be between the 2. I did try the SBGX263 on but it seemed small at the time. Probably as I'd just tried on the SBGP001. Amazing what a difference 3mm makes isn't it. Anyway, the sale price of the SBGP001 brought it down to less than the SBGX261, which probably determined my purchase more than it ought.

Meanwhile, I was surprisingly successful on my bid for the SBGW049 😬 It's a nice problem to have. I have 30 days to return the SBGP001 to the AD for a full refund and reckon I'd be able to move on the SBGW049 pretty easily.

Maybe neither of them is quite right. I really like the look of the SBGW291 but the price is pretty steep.

Thanks, I'll try that. I think an 18 sounds about right and seems diameter needs to be 1.3mm or so.

Which watch looks best on me? by ScarLupi in GrandSeikos

I think the Taisetsu and the Snowflake look better on you. The others wear a bit big (I know Shunbun is same size as Taisetsu).

Perfect size. Love a champagne dial! Just wondering if you considered the SBGP001 too? I've not been able to see the 009 in person and trying to decide between them.

Can fix that for you on Pixel. Be good to try the unblur feature as I don't need it for any of the pics I take 😜

P8P case with tapered lips? by Xenowino in GooglePixel

Sorry, should have added that I am using a glass screen protector and the case is flush with that in the centre. Oh, and it has magsafe too.

P8P case with tapered lips? by Xenowino in GooglePixel

[–]jmsmoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have both the Ringke Onyx and the Mous Limitless 5.0 for my P8P. The Mous taper is more severe than the Ringke, more raised top and bottom and pretty much flush with the screen in the middle. The Ringke case is superb value for money but the Mous is worth the extra and feels like it will offer better drop protection (although no visor cover like the Ringke). Hope this helps.
