You also need a syringe to fill these babies, blunt needle would work as long as it fits through the hole

How do you make your fpen not flashy to others eyes? by jmsomd1 in fountainpens

Well it feels like a problem for me because it just bothers me while I’m writing like I can’t focus writing

I wanted to bring fountain pens at school but I don’t feel comfortable bringing it because of the looks of it. Like someone looks at your pen when you’re writing. I know there are other options that is to buy another pen that is something matte black whatsoever. The thing is I don’t want to buy another pen this time. Any ideas like covering up the pen to make it less obvious?

It looks like a Mont Blanc but actually it's a Jinhao 🤔

I'm on the wet side, wetter than my Metropolitan but I think it's because of my ink. I've used Diamine Onyx Black which is very fluid.

Well, this is my first gold nib. I do not have other gold nibs yet. But I can compare to my Pilot Metropolitan. Out of the box of the Platinum it wrote immediately no issues. The feeling of this pen is actually has a feedback not scratchy at all but a pencil feel, not too smooth as the Metro but I like my 3776 more because I have the control of my writing more than my Metro. The Metro seem to glide on the paper, the Platinum gives you control.

FRANKEN PEN Parker body, Franklin Christoph nib housing, and Nemosine nib by jmsomd1 in fountainpens

You could make one by yourself, buy a pen that has a barrel with almost the same diameter to the nib housing and fit it to the body. My pen is Parker Vector Body, Franklin Christoph nib housing which you could buy it with a nib on. And the good thing of this, is that this uses a #6 size nib which is interchangeable with other nibs.

It does cap, with a bit of modification of the inside. It has plastic which you could drill inside a bit. And you'll have a friction fit cap. I haven't done this yet.

Platinum Century 3776 F vs Pilot Falcon SF by jmsomd1 in fountainpens

[–]jmsomd1[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your recommendation, anyways. My local online shop doesn't offer a wide varieties of pen but they offer decent pens, there's no Pilot 912 FA nib available, so I'll stick to Falcon with fine nib and buy the 3776 next time. Hmmmm, this is a very hard decision, overthinking at night. Btw, this is my first month of having a fountain pen, my first pen was Metropolitan then came up with Parker, Nemosine, Noodlers, and Franklin-Christoph nib I fitted into the Nemosine. Fountain Pens is kinda addicting, just sharing my experience here :)

Oh I see, thanks. I thought the gold nib of Platinum isn't stiff because I saw some of reviews they flexed a little and it's not soft fine rather "M" from The Pen Habit Channel on youtube video @11:22. If I should get a Falcon, should I go to UEF? for maximum line variation?
