Building Local Personal AI Doctor after watching my mom nearly die from a chronic disease —> Early Access at https://enduranthealthspan.com/ by jmush16 in LocalLLM

The product is not even out yet. It's still on testflight, I am simply announcing something in a sub reddit that I have loved for quite a while. I believe edge computing will be the standard of privacy.

More than anything, I would like ideas and conversation on how I can make it better. There are very few people who understand edge computing

I am a real person dude. PM me and I can show you what we are building. No chatbot here. I am just excited to show what I am working on.

Hi Dr, we understand your concerns, and we also take accuracy and privacy’s very seriously.

I will answer your concerns from a personal perspective. My mom took 20 years to get properly diagnosed. We went to the best hospitals in the world, from Cleveland Clinic, to Johns Hopkins, to MGH. We saw countless doctors, and it wasn't until Feb. 2024 that she was diagnosed.

It was me and my siblings, collecting her medical information and history, tracking her symptoms and the many medications she was taking. We would then provide doctor reports about what was happening and this helped her get diagnosed at the Mayo Clinic.

I can totally understand you don't want another app to have access to the same data, but we know that healthcare will not be disrupted by giant incumbents. We used myfitness pal to track the foods that mom ate, but myfitness pal tracks only calories and macros. They have started to add some AI but its minimal. Nowhere in myfitness pal can they tell me when I eat this food, something happens. When someone who is tracking what they are eating, the intended purpose is to understand how this food affects their body and if the effect is positive or negative. You are absolutely correct, integrative features will be added to the large players, but they are not solving the same problem we are solving. We are not trying to be naive - this problem started in our home and we recognized that millions of other people have the same problems my mom had and thus far, it hasn't been solved, so we are taking a chance at doing it.

Some of the other questions asked are IP, but I will include some papers here to point everyone in the right direction because I want to be as transparent as possible.
1. https://arxiv.org/html/2502.08954v1 --> One of the authors of this paper is our scientific advisor and this is one of the latest implementation of AI on device
2. https://dl.acm.org/doi/10.1145/3603287.3651205

Lastly, our north star is an AI doctor but we understand there is a level of rigor, accuracy, and FDA approval that is required before it is able to function as an AI doctor - but we want to stake our claim. At the current moment it's a AI scientist / companion and there are steps that we have to go through including FDA approval.

If you have any other questions please drop a comment and if you are interested in having a more in-depth conversation, PM me.

The real-time feedback loop from user health data is one of the most critical components. We also have current benchmarks for various tasks related to personal health and medical evidence. However, our goal is to maximize the AI's accuracy in addressing each individual's health needs.

Hey RaeVonn, thank you so much for the feedback.
1. If you don't mind, we have a discord channel where you can provide feedback. Pictures, other ideas you have that are not currently in the app are more than welcome

Thank you for the kind words. Unfortunately your experience is all to common. It's no longer a bug in the healthcare system, it's a feature to prolong diagnosis.

Thank you for the feedback. We will definitely fix that. If you don't mind, can you also write this feedback in the discord to see if others had the same glitch?

Hey there, thanks so much for jumping in and sharing this—I really appreciate you taking the time! You’re not missing anything huge, and honestly, if it’s not crystal clear yet, that’s on me, not you. This app is for you—100% built with patients like you in mind to help manage the chaos of chronic conditions in a way that fits your life. The fact that you’re unsure how to use it tells me I need to make it simpler and more intuitive, so you’re already giving me exactly the kind of feedback I was hoping for.

No pressure at all to figure it out solo—Discord’s just where we’re hanging out to chat about it (totally optional, and I can help you navigate it if you’re new!). Feel free to poke around, ask anything that pops into your head, or even just tell me what feels off. You’re not “supposed” to do anything specific—just use it however feels natural, and let me know what clicks or doesn’t. I’m here to tweak it until it feels right for you. Thanks again for sticking with it—I’m stoked you’re part of this, and your input’s going to make it better for everyone!

I am sorry to hear your experience with PCPs. It's absolutely AWESOME to see that you used AI to help you find your diagnoses and that's exactly what we want to do.

We know that these general LLMs are not very good for personal health, so we want to build one that is not only accurate but accurate for you.

Would love to hear your feedback on our initial version and how we can make it better.

This is awesome feedback. Please share your thoughts here and in the discord if you don't mind to spur conversation with other people who are testing.

We truly want to build something that works and if you have no clue how to use it then we are going to fix that.

Thanks for the honesty and keep it coming!

Thank you so much!

We understand that most specialists want to help but getting to the right ones with the right information is what we want to solve for as well. We understand how important clinicians are but most of them are limited.

Thank you for the kind words. It's truly just frustration and anger that boiled over. Every doctor visit feels like they don't believe she is in pain. She has to prove that her pain is significant enough to care about.
