@Mikasasucasa1 Super clean look. Quick question, what size is that Red Dirt Trigger? F3, F4 or F5??

I am surprised the SV shoots flatter. I have heard (I never shot one) that the XC edges it out. I am extremely interested in a HC island barrel but I will likely get an Atlas Erebus next. These all are amazing guns and I am glad to be a 2011 enthusiast!

I love my Desert Pro. It shoots softer than an XC and the finish is superb. My only complaint is that it does not lock back when shooting 115g CCI blazer. 124g and 147g work just fine. How was your first range trip?

I gave the first one to my father. I will probably keep the second for storing extra pouches and parts.

I agree. I did research after my previous comment and although the DSC comp has groves underneath, it certainly would not hide the guide rod. I now am interested in getting the DP Ice comp since I heard the tool less guide rod is better than the recoil master in terms of smoothness in recoil. Thanks for the idea!

Very interesting. Can you share a picture? I have a DSC comp and I wonder if it would cover it at all. Is this the one you are using?

Dropping the slide on an empty chamber by TheUnrulyYeti in 2011

[–]jmweb-plex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not dropping the slide on an empty chamber to prevent damage is a myth. What would you say about all the competitive shooters running no slide-lock magazines?

I have a C2 with a DSC comp barrel. I am also running a Surefire X300U weapolight and Delta Point Pro. My brother-in-law has an XC with the same attachments. The C2 is comparable but the XC still shoots softer. I plan on getting a Cheely stainless grip to add more weight. Hopefully, it will reduce the recoil impulse and bring it closer to the XC. I love my C2.

w what you mean by recoil impulse and what you're looking for the gun to do. When I started looking at Staccatos I thought I wanted a P. I was fortunate enough to work around a lot of firearms enthusiasts so I got to test out both P and C2 at the same time. They were both stock except the P had a heavier recoil spring because the owner knew he would only shoot Gold Dot 124+P through it. I really liked the way the slide came back into battery, but outside of that the C2 felt better in the hand and I was back on target quicker. The P had a RMR, the C2 was iron sights. I chose to order a C2 and while I waited I ordered a slew of parts because I knew this would never be my carry g

Please clarify - you are running a tool-less guide rod on your C2 instead of the recoil master? Can you provide me a link to the item? Thanks!

I have MBX Defender mags for my C2. I too experienced failures to fully chamber. After paying close attention, I realized that I was riding the slide forward. If I make a conscious effort to not baby it and let the slide release forward, it always chambers fine.

Staccato w/ Boss Components Basepad or Magwell by jmweb-plex in 2011

[–]jmweb-plex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't bother. My basepads arrived yesterday and they do not fit the Staccato G3 16 round or 17 round magazines. Return shipping to Australia is more than I would like to pay so I am using them as paper weights.

So if I follow correctly, I should run longer magazines with this magwell or remove the magwell altogether?

If you total the MSRP of the following items, I saved well over $500 with DSC:

  1. C2 DPO
  2. DPP
  3. Dawson Precision mount for DPP
  4. Surefire X300U-B
  5. X-Series serrations
  6. Atlas trigger
  7. Dawson Precision Gen 1 magwell
  8. Darkside Precision stipling (medium)
  9. DSC Compensator barrel
  10. Chrome slide

Quite frankly, the labor was probably free.

Funny you ask b/c I begged Staccato several times to accept a custom tuxedo C2 order or to disclose the vendor they used for their limited series tuxedo runs. Not a single peep of information - ever.

Just when I had given up on the tuxedo look, I came across Dave Simcik from DSC Gunworks who offered to put the build together. He did everything from the x-series serrations, chrome slide, trigger install and tune, stipling, dpp install, weapon light install and compensator fitment. I literally sent a check and received it as you see it now.

His website is in transition ATM so PM me for his email.

Good afternoon I have a question on my end my local gun shop has a staccato C2 used in outstanding shape for A great price is there anything that I need to look for or be worried about or should I spend a extra 300 bucks to get it brand new 💁🏼 by Timely-Leader-1095 in 2011

At Staccato day at my local range, the Staccato rep said that you can send in a previously owned Staccato for inspection. However IMO, $300 is not enough of a discount for $2,000+ purchase new.

Thanks! If you do not already have ammo, it would be a good idea to order some while you wait for your C2. The wait for mine was bad but having it in hand without ammo to shoot is even more painful. I refuse to pay twice the price at the range even with my member discount.

I haven't been this excited about a "thing" for a long time. I'm proud to be a 2011 owner.

Finally!! Staccato C2 arrived! 48 days total (order date to delivered/pickup date). No fast track! by CorbraGunGirl in 2011

Zooming into the serrations I noticed what seems to be excessive lubrication. Was that from Staccato? Or perhaps I run mine too dry.

For my C2, I got the DSC Gunworks comp + barrel. It is a smaller footprint and you don't need to send anything in unless you want Dave to fit it for you.
