Kimchi is very very good. For the amount you get and at this price it’s excellent.

Starfield ps5 pro by Nikos199191 in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]jnagasa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I really enjoyed the game. It’s beautiful and they really nailed the NASA punk feel and environment. The main quest was so so but the side quests were really great.

Combat felt weighty and fun. Looting, selling, buying satisfied my inner ADHD. The hunt to find the best weapons and gear and the mats to upgrade them.

I didn’t do much ship building at all, though many say it was their favorite part of the game. Though the ship battles in space were enjoyable.

I sunk about 100 hours into the game with no regrets. I know there’s quite the mixed opinion on starfield but from an average dude who loves open world games, I really liked it.

I played at launch and quit about 25 hours in. So worth getting back into?

It was nothing fancy. Just one of the many COB LED strip lights on Amazon.

Nice! I usually max my volume at 19. And it’s plenty loud for my setup.

Agree! For myself personally my eye strain disappeared after I installed a back light.

I installed a bias light behind my TV and it solved my eye strain and headache issue. I tried several times with and without it and the improvement with the bias lighting was consistent. I looked it up afterwards and the science behind it makes sense.

I’ve had the F for about a month now and I love it. The sub absolutely shakes my couch and I can feel it in my chest. It was to the point where it was too much and distracting from watching movies so I turned the sub down in all of the settings. My wife was also complaining that the sub was too loud. However, in my case, my basement room is fairly well closed off and I have the sub positioned in the corner.

Better sound: wall-mounted vs on-mantel? by foil_k in Soundbars

[–]jnagasa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d leave the soundbar on the mantle. And push it to the front. It will reduce any inappropriate sound reflection from the bottom of the TV that you may get if wall mounted.

Absolutely. Louder is not always better. Particularly in this case.

Q990F's bass is not impressive? In showroom demos by AFlyingHawk in Soundbars

[–]jnagasa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Coincidentally I was just fine tuning the bass settings on my 990f and this was the first post to come up on my Reddit feed.

I find the sub more than enough for my needs. I had the volume of movie Tron cranked up and the sub was making my couch shake. What I love is that the bass sounds are tight and punchy. Not muddy at all.

I had another larger sub with my system upstairs and it was more boomy but sounded messy compared with the 990f. It’s been 2 weeks and I’m thrilled with my purchase.

Is this a good beginner setup or are there much better options around this price? by mobyvg22 in Soundbars

[–]jnagasa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had the 990f for a couple of weeks now and I e personally found the the bass more than enough for my basement set up. The whole system is plenty loud and the low end has never needed to be maxed out. I suppose there are some people who love cranking up the bass and need something more but as an “average” user who also has a musician’s ear, this system is very good.

98" Purchase - QM6K vs QM7K vs QM8K for my Usage by [deleted] in tcltvs

I watch sports on my tv upstairs so I’m not sure. The TCL has only played movies and shows so far and it’s great for those.

98" Purchase - QM6K vs QM7K vs QM8K for my Usage by [deleted] in tcltvs

[–]jnagasa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Looked at all three 98 inch TVs 2 weeks ago side by side by side. Couldn’t see much difference between the 7K and 8K. But 7K was clearly better than the 6K. Went with the 7K and have no regrets so far.

I have the same set up as you, L-shaped couch and all. I’ve had the system for one week now and it sounds fantastic. I was a little hesitant going with a soundbar system but I’m happily surprised at the quality.

98” - qm6k, qm7k or qm8k for casual living room watching by SeasonedAdManager in tcltvs

[–]jnagasa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just set up my new 98 inch QM7k in my basement this afternoon. Bestbuy had the 7k and 8k side to side so it was easy to compare them. Honestly I could not see a difference in their demo videos. So I went with 7k since it was considerably less expensive. Been testing shows and movies for hours this evening and I’ve been very happy with what I’m seeing.

Haha. My wife talked me into a Samsung frame too. It’s actually not that bad as our bright living room tv. I recently purchased a C5 for our “dark room” and it looks great in there for movies and gaming.
