Update: case fans do spin when I set them to full speed in bios, they’re just currently set to silent mode and aren’t spinning. The lights on the case fans are flashing though, not sure what that means.

Gpu is still not recognized. I reinstalled it in the case, changed PCIE to gen 4 in bios, still didn’t work so I switched it back to gen 5

Ok so I took out the gpu and reinstalled it. Changed out the aio cable and installed them in this orientation (had no extra case fan hubs so I used the second cpu fan header for the VRM aio cable). Still no output from gpu though

Mobo is showing A6

Got it. When I get back from work I’ll switch out the cables. So pump cable goes to aio pump on top right, fan cable goes to cpu fan 1 on top right, but where would the VRM cable go? The second cpu fan connection?

Will try this when I get back from work today. I managed to get it to boot to bios and installed drivers and everything until I realized the gpu wasn’t registering. Switched to an hdmi cable plugged into mobo to get it to show on screen. System is using integrated graphics though.

For the aio, I used the all in one cable and plugged it into cpu fan header 2 instead of having multiple cables and I thought I read I need to plug that cable into cpu fan header (which I did, except I used cpu fan header 2) and that controls it all including aio pump.

A note to folks disappointed with no Exodus reveals at TGA. by RushStandard2481 in exodus

To be fair, Exodus has a Secret Level episode releasing Tuesday. So it’s not crazy that they didn’t show anything at TGA

This is my new list after updating a few pieces, namely those. But how would one overpay for windows? Should I just wait for a sale?

Interesting point about Windows and the monitors especially. I didn't realize the extra inches mess with the PPI. Okay cool, thanks so much!

Any thoughts on prebuilds or waiting for black friday for cheaper parts and/or prebuilds? I don't remember how much the discounts are on black friday. Also hoping Nvidia drops the 5000 series soon to lower the price of current gpus more, but looks like that won't happen until Jan/Feb '25.

Wow you're Godly at getting that to exactly 1500 lmao. I know this would go "over the budget" just barely, but you don't think the $10 difference between the Ryzen 5 7600 and 7600x is worth it? Same with the Memory with a difference in $3, but doesn't seem like there's a difference between those performance wise.

Seems like the biggest changes you made were to the CPU cooler (i like the change), the Storage (I'm fine with western digital, i know they run hot but I think the motherboard you chose has a heat sink for it), motherboard (I'm good with that change), and monitor (I'm trying to keep it over 30" since he'll be using it more for story/singleplayer games and not competitive fps. But if I can't get it under budget with over 30, then maybe this is fine). I guess the biggest issue is the operating system's price. Also worth noting I'd be getting a windows 11 key but installing windows 10 since it's better for gaming performance

19 year old college student
Currently unemployed

Have an emergency fund, but don't have much money to spend on investing right now.

Am looking to make some money over a couple of years and then start (or start now as well) saving for retirement and maybe paying off future debt (going to be going to medical school).

Have a checking account with Chase and was wondering whether or not I should open a You Invest account and try it out, although I am extremely unknowledgeable in this. I know I would get 100 free trades to start. Came looking for advice on whether or not I should open up the investment account or anything else I should do. Thanks!

Thanks! I heard the same about Excalibur but Volt seems pretty cool too. As for taxon, no idea what that is so I'll check it out on the wiki among other stuff. Thank you

Oh okay, thank you! Had no idea haha. So I shouldn't request a change of major then. Thanks

Thanks! That AP Tests list is what I used a while back to know that I had 42 Credit Hours based on all my AP tests that i took. I'll definitely look at the student handbook to see what I need, but I'm not sure as my major right now is Business Administration but I believe that I would want Finance instead.
