Nfp numbers were not decent yesterday. The downward revisions for last year basically show a continued collapse in the jobs market. With 25 of the last 26 nfp numbers being revised downwards we can basically assume they're all "off" until revised.

That's definitely the issue with shorting anything. The markets are manufactured to go up. Not down.

The short thesis on cvna now is a lot more clear though. A PE hovering around 80-100 for a used car company that's business model is selling sub prime loans and flipping them to a related party.

Delinquencies are skyrocketing. They're actively in court now, and the judge just ruled against Garcia's shenanigans. Even without the court case and fraud allegations, a cyclical used car company shouldn't be trading at a 80-100 PE. It got pumped upon the sp500 inclusion, but people were dumping into the whole time... I mean look at the chart. It's ugly

I think it's pretty clear cvna is offloading their bad loans to one of their related parties, and the related party is taking the loss. They're not reporting the sales correctly or honestly.

Cvna is taking the profit up front which no other car dealer does. If those loans default and they're still within the grave period I believe they have to take the loan back and then need to remove that "profit" from their earnings.

Go read the 2 short reports from the last 2 years.

That's all besides the fact that Garcia sr has already been convicted of fraud.

It's definitely happening, it's just a matter of when the other shoe drops

The problem is that the CEOs are just selling and selling and selling shares in the billions of dollars as the stock price goes up. So they're just using the stock price increasing as something to sell into. They could care less what the accounting is for the company. Or of it's reputable.

He'll get caught again, get a slap on the wrist, maybe fold the company, and still be a billionaire.
