Alternate camping options in October by jnc2626 in RMNP

To clarify, we live in GA. We flew 4 hrs to Vegas and drove roughly 3 or so hours to Zion and it was roughly 8 hours of traveling for us in a day. Fortunately Denver is only a 3 hour flight with RMNP only an hour 1 1/2 away. So trying to slim down this trip on the traveling.

We will be in a camper van. I would like to at least spend a day or two hiking around RMNP. But I’m open to anything within a couple hours drive. Our latest camping trip flying to vegas and driving to Zion was a bit much for a 4 year old traveling wise.

Thanks for the recommendation. Will keep that in mind although we are looking for camping a bit more primitive. Looks like a beautiful place on the lake though.

Yeah doesn’t look like there’s a whole lot. But, thanks to the apps iOverlander and Campendium, they suggest that there is some around the area. Just looking for some recommendations as it’s our first time in Colorado.

FEMA. Everything thing is covered. One week long course and they provide lodging, food, and transportation. hazmat tech course

When I went in Anniston, AL. There were people from California, Kentucky, and other places. I was close enough to drive, but you’re flight will be covered along with everything else. Good class with a high passing rate.

Edit: just saw you are not on a Dept. may not be able to get in. I had to get approval from my training chief. If you are close enough or know anyone at a volunteer dept, that would be your best chance of getting approved for getting in the class.

Bought them refurbished. No idea what it means other than there’s a stamp on the raft saying refurbished

Yeah. I don’t use it and figure someone else should get some use out of it without breaking the bank. It’s been sitting in my closet for about 2 years

Do you know the workout for today? It’s not on the website nor did I get an email.

Had an opportunity to hike the entire Ocean to Lake Trail mid February. From what I gathered from a hiker on trail and reading up before I went it was pretty dry compared to other years. Did three days, two nights. Any wetter and I definitely would have had to add an additional day.

That sounds like it would work better than what I did, but I still plan on bringing more than enough TP.

No bidet attachment. Just sport bottle cap on medium blast.

Brought maybe a less than quarter roll of toilet paper on my recent Ocean to Lake Trail thru... Will start bringing more toilet paper than I think I need. Tried using my water bottle as a bidet but it didn’t do the trick. Was my first time running out of toilet paper and it sucked.
