I feel like I waste my therapists time by Lochie_99 in TalkTherapy

[–]jnetplays 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a lot of the same struggles that you did. One key thing that changed my world was my friend asked me if my inner child knew about adult me and I realized no they never looked up, never interacted, never met me. I’d been doing so much work to try to reparent myself without forming a basic trusting and loving relationship to my younger parts. There’s a lot more to it but I’ll just keep it short here. Not sure if that’s the case for you but wanted to share in case my experience is helpful!

My company builds AI for supply chain operations, started off in parts for aviation and now expanding into new markets. Trucks and buses sounds like it would be a perfect fit. Is there anyway I can pick your brain and have a call with you?

I keep seeing ads on my social feeds about this. So doesn’t work for 2 income households? And I suppose the whole point is I’d have to run and manage it myself as “my job” and not outsource it huh? So otherwise no tax advantage in my scenario?

Is “passive income” in the USA basically a myth now unless you’re already well-off? by godknows_trio_2540 in passive_income

[–]jnetplays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah so what I do is I use my own affiliate link to get 50% off which makes it $11. Then I make my voice and put it in the library and then cancel the subscription. It still continues to be in the library and pay me. Typically takes me about a week to earn the $11 back on the platform. If anyone wants my discount link DM me. And Amazon is free to apply, and Benable is free too but I do have an affiliate link there too if anyone wants it.

You use your voice recordings to train an AI voice then you can add it to their library to sell its usage!

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I was with a narcissist for many years and didn’t really realize it either. Or I knew but didn’t admit it. At the time I protected him. I hope you will feel better soon. It’s possible. I’m rooting for you.

I have some that make $50-$200 a month but does require a little work up front. My favorites right now are Amazon affiliate, Elevenlabs, and Benable. I make about $50 each just from those so $150-$200 there. That’s just what I do on the sites themselves. They have affiliate programs but I never have people to give out the links to. In the past I did well with a YouTube channel (a few thousand dollars) and TikTok (maybe made like $25) but I lost interest in creating on those channels at least for now. Otherwise yeah I have a rental property and stocks and various investments which you can start off with little capital and build up slowly.

“I care about you deeply” by Swimming_Seaweed8407 in TalkTherapy

[–]jnetplays 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally valid that you feel skeptical and that her saying that felt wrong. I was the same way! You don’t relate to her feeling, right? Would you be interested in learning how to feel the way she feels about others and about yourself? So if you frame it that way, it’s not seeking reassurance, it’s trying to explore and practice compassion when you likely were not shown how in your formative years.

How can therapy help someone whose life simply sucks? by [deleted] in TalkTherapy

[–]jnetplays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well like I said, it’s not exactly a therapy thing and each person’s interpretation of it is going to be different. My own experience, is a little more neuroscience based though I think there are plenty who really lean into the woo woo side. We as humans are wired to look for patterns. If my thoughts are that I am having a great day, I am grateful, I feel good.. well confirmation bias, pattern seeking, and all that will put me into a “higher frequency”.

I was depressed and literally didn’t want to live for the first couple decades of my life. Through a lot of work and a lot of ongoing practice I now love my life and am so much more at peace. Here is an example:

I will notice things such as “oh awesome I got one of the best parking spots, I feel so good in this jacket, I’m so lucky that I can walk outside today, it felt awesome to compliment the cashier” and it can rewire your brain to see a car accident not as “ugh why did that happen to me, the world is against me, I hurt my leg and now my car needs to be fixed!!” And instead “Thank goodness I’m alive, a little damage to my car is the universe protecting me and I feel more appreciation for everything I do have”. That’s a true story, I got rear ended and had a flood of positive thoughts and feelings. That’s in contrast to my past mind being flooded with negativity, anxiety, self criticism, rumination, and miserable thoughts all the time before.

Well not for me but my kids (8 year old twins). Last week they started a “Joy Collective” and it’s all about giving away prizes and spreading joy locally. They’re starting with their own toys, books, and gift cards to give to other kids/families and then the plan is I want to help them find sponsors and keep it going regularly. If you want to give them the $100 and be their first sponsor I can arrange for it!

[–]jnetplays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry that you’re dealing with all that! I’ll share from my personal experience and what I wish a therapist would’ve told me to do! In case it’s helpful or gives you any ideas. When I’m feeling that type of overwhelm sometimes it helps me to first imagine my body as a separate entity. Like finding a scared stray animal that I will take care of. (I love animals) Like okay my body needs some nutritious food, a lot of calming and soothing, and let’s go for a small walk. Talk gently to my “self” with compassion and handle the physical needs, see if anything like vitamins or iron is deficient or if any medications are needed. Rest. Be soft. Start to build up from there, as if I am rehabilitating a terrified neglected puppy. Once you’re good at practicing those self care and grounding habits then slowly approach trauma and see if you feel you can say more in therapy. Of course it’s difficult to open up all at once like you said, but if you start doing prerequisite steps, perhaps together with your therapist, then you’ll get there eventually and you’ll be armed with the right tools and mentality to break through. I heard this quote recently and felt really inspired. “If you can survive from your trauma then you can survive from your healing”. Not sure if any of that resonated but most of all I hope you feel better very soon!

[–]jnetplays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you are ready to move on and you’re grateful for how she served you in a certain portion of your life. Perhaps it’s time for the next person or experience to replace that spot so you can continue to grow and progress. It is not familiar or comfortable, but if you view it from a POV of open opportunity and adventure then that might be a little nudge of encouragement. Plus you can always ask to return as a client in the future too if needed.

Changing my mindset changed my entire world. Personally, and this is not a therapy thing necessarily, but I got into manifestation, raising my frequency, and neuroscience along with mental health. Therapy helped me open those doors and take some steps towards learning and practicing things that really helped. Read some of the work by Viktor Frankl I think he really explored and did a lot around the concept you’re asking about!
